My thoughts on this window.....

I agree, a DM would have been delightful, but Chico is due a return, and Broony is back so it's not as big a disappointment as I thought in that area.

 

I've thought about it and * it, decent window, better than signing nae * and punting Bitton or something

 

Really happy with Sviatchenko. Think we made a big coup getting him.

Also happy with Roberts, although we didn't really need him considering the players we already have, but I think he could turn out to be a real exciting player and a fans favourite.

So, for a January window I think we did some really good business.

Oh, and then there was Kazim. Well, we'd never get a 100% score.

 

Bless the original posters wee cotton socks for bringing some perspective and reason to this asylum.

I think, on reflection, it has been a decent window. Lets give the new boys a chance, get behind the team and look forward to the rest of the season!!

I have a suspicion that, if we'd signed Sviatchenko today (versus a couple weeks ago), people would be much more excited about the window. January is a time for overspending and panic buys, and we didn't do that. Got what appears to be good value in Sviatchenko, a great long-term loan for some serious talent in Roberts, and took a flyer on CKR (without having to pay a transfer fee, correct?). And it sounds like we still have a good chance of getting Ajer in the summer. I'll take it.

 

Big Sviechenko is an experienced centre back and hope gets played before efe, Paddy Roberts looks some player and we have him for 18 months, it could get extended to two year maybe and be involved in two European campaigns, Kazim Richard has played for plenty of big clubs so he cant be that bad, he may be our surprise package. I think its been a great janaury window, cant complain on getting 3 players in

 

Agreed sviatchenko looks good. The guy looks commanding and a leader. The only issue is he is going to be partnered with the chuckle brothers for the next 6-8 weeks as Jozo is out, I just hope they don't drag him down to their level.

Roberts looks a good player, hard to say what kind of impact he will have though, still very young and inexperienced. I'd rather we permanently signed ely- though. Having him here permanently, with a proven goalscoring record would have been a much better option IMO.

CKR honestly smacks of desperation to me. He might do okay, but by * we aren't half scraping the bottom of the barrell there. I still think we are a Griffiths injury away from a crisis right now and this guy has no proven record at all to back up whether he can fill that void if it so happens.

I think failing to address the defensive mid situation could really come back to bite us in the *. We are very fragile in there, and outwith Brown there is simply no dig or heart in there.

There's been minimal outlay on the side again, and we can't get rid of the hoard of dross we've accumulated.

It's a 6/10 window for me.

Next window should be better with the extra £10M we will get with the Huns being back, according to SPLOB himself. I won't hold my breath though.

If we beat Ross county yesterday, people wouldn't be crying bout signing the big Turk today.

But rewind a week and if we were offered him in exchange for Cifcti I don't think many would knock it back

 

Good to get some signings this window so they have time to get used to Celtic and the way of playing before the qualifiers in the summer.

CKR has a terrible scoring record and seems like a total * but I feel like it he could either be * or class. Nothing in between.

 

They're his beautiful new child's, paddy's still a * though.

Look, it wasn't what we wanted.

But Sviatchenko looks like a class signing, really excited about him. His attitude, personality, style of play... Love it.

Roberts is a £12 million wonder kid and we have him for 18 months. He could and ahould be a star.

CKR isn't what we wanted. Not the kind of player or personality. But he's here, he's shown good attitude as long as he keeps it going and the staff don't take any *. You never know what he could do.

 

The scouting team need to be brought to task for the amount of duds that have signed over the past few years and in particular the forwards. So much money wasted . Our money. It is unacceptable.

 

Can't help but feel people are displacing their anger from the Ross county game.
Before that loss most people were acceptant in waiting for Ajer till summer, now its the biggest travesty in the clubs history .

 

I must be seriously missing something with this guy . He has looked suspect in most games and actually shocking in a few. Do not see where his praise is coming from , genuinely.
