    Happy with this, although he's not a defender, he will definitely stop a lot of play before it gets to our backline. He was immense at Killie and I think they will be a lot weaker without him this year.

    He won't solve all our problems, of course, but he is good at reading the play and intercepting trouble before it becomes critical. And given one of our biggest failures is our awareness of opposition players running off the ball he might just do a job for us. Sometimes the best transfers aren't always the big money ones. Fingers crossed he does well.

    I think he does solve a lot of issues we have, a bit of fight, experience and defensive nous.

    He’s highly experienced and a guy we would have no qualms about playing in the defensive minded midfield role in Europe.

    He’s something different to what we have. That’s why I wanted him from day dot this summer.

    If it wasn’t for how the rest of the window has went (and that’s myself included here) we would all be delighted about this.
