Immigration into Britain over the last ten years has been mostly...
    Good: 22%
    Bad: 33%
    Both good and bad: 38%
    (YouGov / 24 - 25 Aug)

The level of immigration into Britain over the last ten years has been...
    Too high: 70%
    Too low: 2%
    About right: 20%
    (YouGov / 24 - 25 Aug)

Not wanting to answer for anyone else, but I like to think of our way of life being open, progressive & tolerant for the most part.

Obviously Britain, just like every other country, has its own customs, but these are vastly overrated by most right-wing types.

    Customs evolve over time.

Well, that's not entirely true, is it? Plenty of non-whites in Britain who are happy to embrace the definition I gave of British culture, isn't there?

It has * all to do with colour.

I would agree with most of those the same goes for Ireland, I would say both Ireland and Britain don't really have a strong culture or a complex culture, it's basically what you said being open and tolerant being any colour or racial group or any faith and being accepted on the whole. I'm not sure about progressive though as that word in politics is often hijacked by certain groups as is the word liberal. For me being British or Irish is just means you have a passport and abide by the laws. Being Scottish or Irish or English it's not a racial group anymore, so anyone that says it is is living in the past a very long time in the past.

So if a world class brain surgeon wants to come to the UK from lets say Jordan, pay higher rate taxes, save people on a daily basis, and train future generations of UK medics, almost 50% of people in the UK wouldnt let him in because he is probably a Muslim?

    I call bullshit.

The poll wasn't about whether or not they would want a Jordanian brain surgeon coming to their country.

Lot of racists these days. That's all the poll seems to be showing me.

The poll regarded stopping ALL migration from mainly muslim countries. That means stopping all the nice and clever muslims as well as the nasty terrorist muslims.

If you would accept my example of person into the Uk surely by absolute definition you would have to answer "no" to the given question?

Not surprised Australia's intolerance is so high on the graph.

A vile country which still treats the native Australians as third-class citizens.

In fact, Aborigines are incarcerated at five times the rate of black people in apartheid South Africa.

Who do they ask these things ? I know they can only ask so many people, but if I were to stand outside Parkhead and ask 100 people if they were in favour of the monarchy then do the same outside ibrox, the results would be completely opposite.

Too easy to manipulate these things to suit an agenda.

Unless polls are open to everyone, I tend to ignore them. Even then you still get uneven opinions. In fact, unless someone takes the time to go round every single person in the entire country and ask them 1 to 1 for an answer to a question then I'll continue to ignore these type of polls.
