Might be the worst headline I've seen.

I think just watching the news, hearing of the tributes from just about every important human being on the planet, says it all.

I dont remember a death having such an impact since * off and Di', and bearing in mind this is the UK, her death doesnt really count, so id say John Lennons death prior to that.....so the most significant death in 35 years...minimum.

The last time I felt this emotional about a celebrity passing was Hunter Thompson.

I am not sure exactly what im talking about, but i keep hearing about how it was boxing that caused his problems, but from what i have heard about Parkinsons, it is a disease, not something you catch from being hit!!!

My neighbour had it, and died from it, but she didnt take multiple head blows.

I'm sure it's like other diseases or mental illness' you are predisposed to it but some things can trigger it early, like repeated blows to the head.

Is that a fact mate? (not being funny)

I havent looked it up, but i think of all the footballers who used to play with bladders that would make your head sink into your neck when headering them.....so i do wonder about the science of the disease.

Id imagine its totally unrealted, otherwise allsorts of boxers would have it.

He probably had some slight brain damage on top of it though which made him seem worse, as he did take some doings.

According to Ole Isacson, a professor of neurology at Harvard Medical School. People who lose consciousness through head trauma are at 50% higher risk of Parkinson’s than those who don’t.

Also I don't think a footballer heads the ball anywhere near as much as a boxer gets punched in the head.

Lots of boxers do end up with brain damage. Ali would have had Parkinson's anyways, it was predetermined by his genetics but boxing may have brought it on early. It's the same with when someone develops schizophrenia after heavy weed or shrooms use, they probably would have got it anyways but weed and shrooms may trigger it early.
