Mowbray in talks with Celtic

Mowbray was the man the board wanted, Moyes was never going to happen, EVER, and Martinez and Coyle were just paper talk and speculaton.

So why did Moyes say that Everton were approached by Celtic regarding him. And Martinez and Coyle weren't just paper talk, there was real intrest there.

 

most of todays papers say mogga will be the new gaffer and hes going to get rid of lennon. hope theyre wrong about lenny

 

They are, Lennon has been given a new contract and part of the new manager deal is that the current coaching staff stay. This is because of the youth development at celtic, these men know the players aand youngsters so theres no need to change. What wont happen is that lennon wont be assistant manager, Peter Grant will be the *. manager and Mark Venus, the 1st team coach (with lenny)

would of thought the other way round with venus as am and grant as 1st team coach. like at albion

 

Celtic wont get Mowbray now cause WBA want £2m to buy out his contract and we aint paying that... the search continues...

hopefully Bilic will get a shout now.

 

I would suspect that Moyes was as big a pipe dream as someone like Louis Van Gaal. Just never gonna happen.

In my opinion the board had a shortlist of fairly evenly qualified first-choice managers in Mowbray, Martinez, Coyle. Who gets the job out that three would depend on the interview, availability and arguably supporters reaction.

Then I suppose there was a second tier of backups in Levein and McGhee and then finally maybe even Bilic as a long-shot wildcard.

 

Martinez is going to be appointed manager of Wigan tomorrow.
Coyle is expected to sign a 2 year extension on his contract at Burnley.
Mowbray, Celtic already said they are not willing to pay the £2m that WBA for compensation.
McGhee has/going to sign with Aberdeen
Levein tbh, I don't want him at the moment, I could see him at Celtic Park in the future but he should stay at Tannadice.
Which only leave Bilic.

 

Sorry to disappoint you lads, but Bilic isn't available at the moment. If we can somehow manage to appint someone until October to run the team until than, it would be perfect. But only if Bilic guarantees that he'll come.

 

Whats the situation with bilic at the minute?

 

There were some negotiations with Bundesliga teams, but it's unlikely that he'll join any club untill he finishes his job with national team.

 

I really can't believe that Craig Levian is not being touted more in the press and by celtic.

 

It's unlikely Celtic would tout him.

 

i got told months ago that craig levien would be our new manager

 

Am I the only one who waiting for McGhee to sign with Aberdeen - just to be sure that he isn't is the back-up solution for Mowbray.

is this £2 million compo to be paid upfront and that only guarentees us to speak to him ?? thats the way i read it anyway
