Not my first choice but the Celtic job isnt as appealing as some seem to think. There was nobody falling over themselves for the job. The board can only get someone that wants to do the job.

I dont want a manager that just there because he got a wage packet he couldnt refuse either, they'll go hiding at the first sign of trouble and there is a crisis at Celtic almost every week!

I'll support Mowbray like I supported Strachan, O'Neill, Barnes, Venglos, Jansen etc until the writing is on the wall. I wont be wishing him or the club failure to see him sacked, I wont be looking for him to be sacked after every minor setback.

    Welcome home Tony!

Amazing speech that. :celt_2: Have to admit Mogga wasn't my 1st choice but I am more than satisfied with him, he was able to rip Rangers apart on many occasions (Two 3-0 wins at Ibrox), so he could do more with a better Celtic side! :icon_mrgreen:

Hopefully he gets a half decent budget, not sure if there are any players worth buying from WBA, Jonathan Greening has always impressed me though.

He seems a bit equal to Strach for me.

If we can have a at least as good manager, with more backing for the fans, it's all fine to me.

I take Tony Mowbray as soon as possible.

I don't think we've spoken to them yet, only Mowbray personally.

    I'm 95% sure we'll get him.

It's just what the BBC Article says then, he's probably agreed to come as long as we sort out compensation with West Brom

Think he'll bring back Riordan if he's appointed? :icon_mrgreen: Or reinstate killen to the first team - he was also the one we outbid for mccourt. I wouldnt be fussed if Mowbray took over. I always largely supported Strachan and think Tony could do a decent job - provided we get into the CL Group Stages and actually spend something!

Then... we just have to wait for the approach.

If any true in the story it's just a matter of time.

I'm finding it hard to get excited about Mowbray tbh.
I cant see how this is a step-forward.

It can only be a positive move for the club. The only way it will be a step forward is if we win the league because at the moment we are the second best team in the country and to me thats not good enough.

Of the 3 managers it seemingly came down to Mowbray was the guy I was most happy about.

Still disappointed that we couldn't see outwith the U.K. for a decent manager, although I guess that would've been perhaps a huger gamble. Anyway who'd want to come to this shithole of a country :56:

Looks like we won't be seeing Marek Cech at Celtic then seeing as he fell out with Mowbray at WBA. So if he solves the left-back problem and gives me, to quote Ruud Gullit "sexy football" then he'll be a legend in my eyes :50:

I think we're going to struggle next season. If somebody told me what would happen in the next year last close season, I would never have believed it:54:

BBC SPORT | Football | My Club | C | Celtic | West Brom deny Mowbray approach

West Brom insist that no approach has been made by Celtic to secure the services of Tony Mowbray. BBC Sport understands Celtic have offered Mowbray the manager's job vacated by Gordon Strachan two weeks ago, with compensation being agreed.
A package of about £1m would secure the deal, but a West Brom spokesman denied the approach
