No cant see it, I think Granty is just saying that going by the Tommy Burns era, I honestly cant see them getting sacked after only 1 year in charge if they do well in other competitions unless they walk away, on the other hand winning the title back is a must
-
The board aren't that, whats the word, brutal?
I think we have a board that understands football, and they are aware continuity is important (look at Newcastle).
I'm sure they understand that it may not click straight away, but they are right to expect Mowbray to deliver the title - we all do. -
It's possible, it's ensuring should it be disastrous they can get shot without compo.
I can't see it though, it would be extremely stupid to place unwanted pressure on them. -

Mowbray has a 12 month rolling contract - like Strachan.

if we cant beat the huns next season they all deserve the sack, lets be honest its the worst hun team in my lifetime and that includes the early eighties.
-
McLeish's last season, did they not set a record for games without a win?
Le Guen....say no more really.
Walter Smith, made them harder to beat but they are full of some pretty shocking footballers. I'm sure plenty of Rangers fans would agree with that as well. -
nah it will take 2 seasons for them to develop a full squad, i do think we can win the league next year coz i can see the huns being just as bad as they have been the last 4 seasons...them winning the SPL last season has only put a false delusion on them they will now think they will cruise it next season just like they did when PLG took over.. it won't be easy but we can do it and i think within 2 seasons we will have a squad full of winners who play good fast flowing football and can finish a game off.

I really dont believe anything i read in the daily ranger or the currant bun or any of the papers for that matter they are just filling pages full of * to fill the space on the pages as there is no games to report on imo.

Thats not the style of the celtic board,
-
Sack them? then try get another manager at the budgets they put out...:( who is going to want to manage CFC if the board start sacking because they didn't win the league that season.. seemed quite unresponsive trying to get a new manager this time around.
No real high fliers jumping at the opportunity -

listen that huns team are as they say , pure and utter pish, we sadly allowed them a lifeline by allowing them to win the league this year, not all down to lawell as our team should still have been able to pump them, next season we have no excuses they are still poor and wont improve much

Rolling contracts is simply a good business move for the PLC. If for say, the manager was on a 4 yr deal and we wanted rid of him after 2 years then we'd be liable to pay him compensation.
Of course the downside is that if they do well and another club come sniffing around them, we'll not be in a strong position to hold onto them or to negotiate as West Brom did with us.
Swings and roundabouts. -
The only way they will get sacked is if we end up third, fourth or if the huns were to beat us by 20 points.
I can't see any of they scenarios happening so I think they will be a Celtic for at least three years.Last edited by a moderator: Jun 21, 2009
