Yes but why do you think that’s the case?

Would still put the house on him starting on the 30th. Only thing that would change that is a bit of form from griff.

It's a no brainier for me now that's he away in January. He ain't being treated as the 3rd choice striker for nothing. Never smoke without fire!

If he doesn't feature at all on Saturday then I think he's for the off in January its not like the other two are banging in the goals either.

He’s not being treated like the 3rd choice striker at all, the SMSM would love to peddle that narrative.

What happened was Odsonne got his chance and scored a hat trick therefore has deserved some more time in the following games which is where we’re at just now.

This is why Rodgers stated clearly 3 strikers is 1 too many for Celtic under him. We needed the loan though at the time due to injuries and going into the Champions League.

Brighton boss Chris Hughton refused to rule out a January bid for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele.

As Sportsmail first revealed, the English Premier League club are prepared to smash their existing transfer record to enhance their hopes of signing the France Under-21 international.

Celtic have slapped a £30million price-tag on the 21-year-old’s head and have no need to sell.

However, prepared to test the water by opening the bidding at £20m plus a sell-on clause and a promise of first-team football to the player himself, Hughton said of Dembele: ‘He is a very good player and he has had a very good season, but he’s not our player.

‘He is one of probably 100 names you could mention that, if I had an opportunity to want them, then you probably would.

‘But he’s not our player, like anyone else you could throw into the mix. We’ll work as hard as we can in this period of time leading into January.

‘If anything happens in January, it will happen because it is right and the processes leading into it would be right.’

Surely it makes sense for both dembele and us we keep him until the summer. If we get past zenit and dembele play a major role his next suitors might pay a better wage and we might be able to inflate the price some more. He will move on eventually but seems happy here. He will be away but hopefully in the summer

I'd hate to see him go. More than just a quality player he brings a bit of international glamour to Celtic. Having two of the hottest prospects from the French u21s in our team increases our stock just by name alone. That said - 30m is 30m.

Probably get slated for this, but 25 million and I'd happily see him go, maybe even add 10% of any future transfer fee as well.

I’ll be surprised if he goes in January, with us still in Europe he should be wanting to prove himself.

He’s been very start stop this season with a few injuries and out of form. Hope he starts Saturday. Without doubt in form he’s our best striker and great for the big games, am not so eager to let him go in January, rather wait till the summer.

Wee impact in the Europa and some good form domestically and he'll be worth more..

Although he does need to concentrate in banging in some goals for us, his season has been disrupted by injury but maybe he's is thinking about his next move..

That and the fact he was coming back from yet another injury, I think he will be away but it will be in the summer.

His potential is massive but for £30m up front given he's had a season of fantastic form and injury problems this, I'd cash in. £10m straight on the hotel job so that's all paid for and £20m reinvested in Rodgers' team sounds like a great swap for me.

Will be sad to see him go but I've every faith we would be just as good a team with Griff or a new striker in the side.

If he stays then I'll be just as happy though. Mon the Mouss!
