    To be fair, he often wouldn't have known who the opposition were as he was * out of his skull. I'd say Garrincha would have to go down as overrated in the sense that the Pele comparisons weren't remotely valid given the spectacular way his career burned out, he was in many ways a proto-Ronaldinho whose off-field life overtook his ability to produce, and by the end he was hawked around by various Brazilian clubs to sell tickets all the while refusing medical treatment for his bung leg and relying on a faith-healer.

    Highly recommend giving this a watch, one of the truly great football stories.

    I'll second this. Phenomenal footballer. His weight of pass was superb.

    I also genuinely believe Henrik was underrated, probably due to how long he spent at us. That there are people that say they would have Shearer over him is laughable.

    He was superb in that World Cup, and signed for Coventry. Pretty sure it was less than a week later he signed for Real Madrid. Something dodgy there.

    I remember Rangers used to be linked with him all the time back in the 90s. I remember being quite excited when he signed for Bolton, but he was a lot heavier then and wasn't the same player.

    Hmm. Maybe. There is a bit of sneering from England, but he is so highly respected at Manchester United and Barcelona, and people in the game in general.

    Matt Le Tissier. Don't know if he was under rated or under achiever. He just gave the impression he couldn't be arsed. But when he was in the mood he was world class. Also a prodigious penalty taker, converting 47 out of 48. The first midfielder to score 100 goals in the EPL.
