    - Klas Ingesson. 57 caps for Sweden and he was rotten.

    - Stuart Ripley. Part of the title winning Blackburn team so the English media always built him up as this fantastic winger. Garbage.

John Terry's always been immensely overrated to me, but that's because the English (and Scottish tbh) think LIONHEART DIE FOR THE CAUSE defending is better than actually anticipating where the ball's going to begin with. He gets caught out of position so many times because he thinks he'll go up for a header because he's proper hard. Best example I can think of would be the first German goal against them at the last World Cup. Neuer hits a goal kick, Terry rushes from his position and misses it and Germany score.

The bulk of John Terry's success was due to the defending genius that was Carvalho.

He was and is a very good defender, however Carvalho made him look world class whilst also getting overlooked due to not being as all action.

Yeah I wouldn't dispute he had a couple of excellent seasons under Mourinho but I don't think even as the more physical defender of the partnership he's ever been better than Vidic. Obviously with a defence like theirs (think they only conceded something ridiculous like 17 in the league in 04/05) Terry did his part, but Carvalho was definitely the more crucial of the two. I would disagree with him still being a good defender in this day and age though, he is a liability and the off field drama (namely him just being a complete * over and over again) has definitely affected his performances.

John Terry does what`s best for John Terry. You can see that in some of the decisions he makes during games.

No theyre no, only Ryan Giggs and Cantona.

I like Neville, Scholes, Keane, Ferdinand, Van Nistelrooy, Rooney and others, although I think Rooney was better when he was 18-25 than he is now.

Ashley Young reputation is simply based on the fact he once scored twice against Everton in the last few minutes and O'Neil called him a genius and everyone jumped on the bandwagon.

English Media mate, I've heard some absolutely ridiculous comments about him on Sky and in the papers.

Carrick has been a player that's been both overrated and underrated throughout his career.

    I think he's a cracking player but.

This shouldn't really surprise you though? The last 3 or 4 years Man United haven't really had the best of times but they were still talked up as some of the best players in the world - Danny Welbeck being another. The fact is that Ferguson's sheer genius kept them successful.

No doubt that's a part of it but Vidic get's plenty of praise and adulation down there, it's a style that is well loved in England, the big bruiser of a defender.

Carvalho was genius though, absolute genius.
