Ah that came out wrong; meant he was another player like Gerrard or Keane. Inspirational captain, great player but a dirty *.

I think if he moved to a bigger club at around 25 - 26 he would be remembered up there with the Roberto Baggio's. Great player.

Had the opportunity to move to firstly Real Madrid and then Chelsea. Don't know how he would've coped as he is the king in Rome and he wouldn't have been the top dog at either of those clubs. Got to respect his loyalty though. Very rarely see it any more...as is seeing someone agree with me about Totti! :50:

Real would've been a terrible move for him; he would need to accomadate Zidane in that side and as good as he is he is no Zidane.

Would've liked to see him at Milan in the earl 2000's. Replacing Rui Costa another player I like but Totti's far superior.

Take it your a fan of Serie A?

Agree again mate. Zidane was the man at Real. He couldn't have put up with politics of Raul and Guti in the dressing room either I don't think. Milan would've been a great move, but it would've been totally implausible. No chance would he ever have played for anyone else in Serie A. The thought of playing against Roma at some point would have killed him. Heard Inter wanted him too at some point.

Yeah mate, massive. Watched it since the glorious 90s days on Channel 4. Watching that and playing FIFA/Pro Evo on the Mega Drive/Playstaion on Sundays. Bliss! Haha.

Do you watch much of it?

Grew up watching the Italian football in on channel 4 in the 90's have a massive soft spot for Del Piero because of it. Loved the Parma team with Crespo in it and always tried to catch a glimpse of the man himself Batigol.

Don't catch the smaller games but I will generally try and get to see the Milan clubs, Roma and Lazio.

Napoli whenever I see them on ESPN as well because I'm a big fan of Lavezzi.

I generally just watch any football I can however.

Agree about Totti and Serie A but it's still one of them things you can help think "what if".

Superb man. I've always had huge respect for Del Piero. It was because of him I almost became a Juve fan, but my Nonna (me wee granny) was having none of it! Her family is from Testaccio in Rome, so I'd have been murdered! I tend to watch most of the games I can, whether on ESPN or the net. Really, really hurting with Lazio's start this year. Thought we were rid of them last season when they almost got relegated, now we're in that spot (again).

I like Lavezzi. He's more of a trequartista than an out-and-out goalscorer. If he can add more goals to his game, he'd be explosive.

Yeah, I sometimes wish he'd have went to a bigger club, just to shut my mates up. I used to (and still do to some extent) get slagged rotten for idolising him, cause every time he'd play in the Champions League or the national team he'd be very average. They forget how amazing he was in Euro 2000 though! He's never really shone on the biggest stage, I'll admit that, even though he was integral to the Azzuri's World Cup win in 2006...even though he played on one leg!
