if they made it to the moon landed planted flags and all that exciting *...then why have we not advanced on that? look at how technology has advanced we should of been able to make it back.

i think Karl Pinkerton super hero meme is needed here...

but there's no point, they would be wasting millions of dollars on going back to "prove" that they landed there which is just a waste of time, they are already focusing more on Mars with the exploration rover thing

Why stop in 1972 though. That's a long time ago. Technology has furthered in 41 year.

Yeah, I don't buy that "no point in going back" crap.

What's the point in keeping and maintaining several research stations on Antarctica? I think we know all we want/need to know about leopard seals and penguins.

In every other aspect of technology it is repeated, perfected and made cheaper but lets just give up on man's (supposed) biggest achievement. Seems well suspect to me.

Yeah, it has but it's still unbelievable expense and very dangerous. And yes, by 1972 it had lost it's political impact, they had beat the Soviet Union to the Moon - along with the cost that fact stopped the missions to the Moon but space exploration has never been giving up on.

Remember that the Soviets, who has spies almost everywhere within the US (remember they got the Nuclear Bomb partly through spying) never doubted the landings. America's greatest enemy at the time. It's just loons on the Internet that doubt it.

Anyway I remember being in Florida in 2005 watching the Discovery Shuttle launch and walking around Kennedy Space Centre, truly amazing. The first launch since the Columbia disaster. I hope humans go back to the Moon.

If the Americans did land on the moon why in the video do the spacemen and lander have more than one shadow when in space there is only one light source and there fore only one shadow.
They could end it all by pointing one of our huge telescopes at the landing sites and show the lander still there....unless its been clamped and towed.:smiley-laughing002:

The cost of this operation was £45 million. That it pretty cheap in this field. Anyway they'll make that back and some if everything goes well.

    http://www.clavius.org/trrnshdow.html

    It's all painfully simple.

Pointing a large telescope like the "Very Large Telescope" in Chile or the Hubble Space Telescope which are designed to look into deep space wouldn't work. Looking at the Moon with those would be like looking at your hand through a personal telescope. It would be blurry.

But if you want to look for yourself you can. http://www.space.com/13485-moon-skywatching-craters-apollo-landing-sites.html

    Of course they were faked.
The van Allen radiation belt would have wiped them out.
Americans faked it to say to the soviet union that we're more advanced than you and now more powerful, the soviet unions technology was way more advanced than the Americans during the cold war and they couldnt do it. anybody who believes americans landed on the moon is gullible.

And don't fall into the conspiracy theory trap as there's too much evidence they didnt land on moon to say its a conspiracy.

The reason we don't go back to the moon is the cost,a staggering amount of money was spent to get there in the first place,no one can afford to do it again, and yes man landed on the moon.Whats this Van Allen radiation belt rubbish?Explain the earth rise pictures where you see a video of the earth rising from the other side of the moon.

In a country where people earn as little as $1.70 per day 45million is a huge amount of money and should be spent on the poor.
Your link does not explain the picture with shadows going in two different directions..ie two light source and in space that does not happen.
