Yeah, but I feel a lot more comfortable about our attacking back-up players than our current batch of defenders. K.Wilson is the only CD I have any confidence in.

    Maj - no
    Rogne - no, injury ridden
Loovens - * no, injured besides
Hooiveld - no, when is he ever fit?

Not sure where you're getting 9 from, unless you're counting Mulgrew, Thompson (not here) and O'Dea (not here). Even then, we don't have 9. Toshney or Towell? They're full-backs.

So, basically we have K.Wilson to play every game all season with Maj, until Izzy is fit enough for Mulgrew to come into CD?

Compared to this, we have the very hot Hooper and Stokes up front as our main two. Samaras and Rasmussen are OK replacement players, IMO. Commons and Maloney can play as forwards, as well. Either way, I'd rather see us miss chances than make mistakes like Maj did in mid-week and completely ruin any chance of victory.

Maj, Kelvin W, Mulgrew, Loovens, Hooiveld, Rogne, Wanyama, O'Dea, Thompson.

I know DOD and Josh are out on loan, but they're still on our books, which does reduce the chances of us buying in a tenth CB.

Wilson, Mulgrew, Maj, O'Dea, Loovens, Thompson, Rogne, Hooiveld, Toshney (who is a centre half).

We have 9 first team centre halves on our books. Samaras and Rasmussen are not 'ok replacements' one is entirely devoid of confidence and the other isn't good enough. If either Hooper or Stokes gets injured we are *.

EDIT: Talk to The Hand cause the Hammer aint listening :icon_mrgreen:

Forgot about Wanyama, aye. And wasn't aware Toshney was a central defender. Not surprising considering he's made...how many first team appearances?

But if you lads are happy with those listed players, half either not here or injured, then fair enough. I'd rather take our chances on Hooper and Stokes, than be assured we're *, which we are with Maj and Kelvin as our lone duo in defence. :54:

Not saying I'm happy with them all, but it seems we do have ten to choose from, so don't think we'll be getting another one in.

I am happy with K Wilson and Mulgrew, and I reckon we have decent cover, though not amazing. Wanyama and Rogne seem good prospects to me.

MOHAMED BANGURA is set to join Celtic today after being recommended by Henrik Larsson.

The Hoops are thought to have agreed a deal in the region of £2.2 million to sign the hitman from AIK Stockholm.
Celts gaffer Neil Lennon, who watched his side win 2-0 in Paisley yesterday, is keen to bolster his strike options before the transfer window closes on Wednesday.
Now he's poised to land Bangura today after glowing reports from Hoops legend Larsson.
Bangura has netted seven goals in 19 games so far this season and has been watched by several sides across Europe.
Blackburn were keen to land the 22-year-old, but look to have been beaten in the race by Celtic.
Bangura is expected to jet into Glasgow today and have a medical at the club.
Bangura failed to score in AIK's 1-0 win over Syrianska yesterday.
First team coach Alan Thompson hinted something could be on the cards after Lennon ducked out of his press duties following his side's win over St Mirren yesterday.
Thompson admitted: "Neil's gone on club business. That's all I've been told to say. There are a few positions we've been looking at and we shall see what happens between now and Wednesday night.
"We're not in talks with Bangura, but he's one we're looking at. He's someone we've been looking at for this week.
"It's not easy getting people in. There are big demands on players and we'll have to wait and see what develops.
"The manager is confident with the squad we have, but if we can add one or two then it will make us stronger for the season ahead."
Gary Hooper scored twice yesterday as Celtic ended a dismal run of form.
It's clear boss Lennon is still not satisfied with his striking options.
Meanwhile, Blackburn and clubs in Russia are keen on Hoops midfielder Ki Sung-Yeung.
Thompson insists, however, they won't be flogging the South Korean superkid.
Lennon said last week that he believes Ki could be sold for £10m in a few years.
Thompson added: "Yes, there has been well documented transfer interest in Ki.
"The lad is a terrific player with a great future, but he's not one we are looking to get out the door.
"I'd like to think Ki will remain at Celtic. The manager has already said he doesn't want the better players leaving."
Thompson doesn't believe the possibility of being reinstated in the Europa League tomorrow will affect who they can bring in.
He said: "I wouldn't think that would have any bearing on signings unless the players themselves are interested in European football."

We've handled this entire transfer window incredibly poorly, let's not mess up our chances in the last few days. To be LOOKING at a player at this stage is ridiculous, now more than EVER is the time to actually bring players in, not scout them.

That article says we're on a dismal run of form. Two defeats isn't dismal the last time I checked, or maybe I'm paranoid?

I have to disagree there. I have always felt that Paul Dixon is one of the best left backs in Scotland. The other two, Izzy and Lee Wallace

Forrests's crossing is superb, it is the players he is crossing to who are the problem, we aren't going to get much joy out of throwing balls into the box when we are playing Hooper and Stokes both of whom aren't that spectacular headers of the ball. There is no way we bring in a winger in this window because we are so well covered there
