Maloney missed a good chance, caldwell and mcdonald both missed sitters, Mcgeady had a * game and Mcmanus cost us a goal in the first couple of minutes. The fact is our players are not good enough, they were not good enough under strachan and they are certainly not good enough under Mowbray. We are paying Scott brown nearly 30K a week, why? N'guemo does the exact same job as brown, except he does it far better. Mark wilson, scott brown, Samaras, Caldwell, and Mcmanus are not up to playing at the highest level.

This is NOT an over reaction to the result last night, we are now seeing a club, that was capable of beating the best teams in the world gradually get worse and worse until the point we are at now, we have turned into a 3rd rate european team. We failed to beat Aalborg, Tel Aviv, and now Rapid Viena, Who by the way were absolute crap last night, but will still beat us when we play them away from home. To say it is getting a little bit humiliating is a vast understatement.:54:

It's not been a great start in Europe but in MON's first season we went out of the Uefa Cup in the 2nd round to Bordeaux and in WGS's the second qualifier to Bratislava. Neither had a good start but went on to have good success in Europe the following seasons.

Being honest apart frmo the money i think tm would rather have given europe a miss for this season as he has said a few times he could do without the extra games so i will take w/e we get this season and look for better next season but when you play against decent teams theres no easy games

I am going to give Mowbray a chance. I am just worried because he is doing very much like I thought he would do - more goals and flowing attacking football against smaller SPL teams but looks tactically niave in Europe. He has a reputation for being idealistic and tactically niave. The last guy who came in spouting about playing some sort of idealised footie was barnes. Six games is quite a lot by European competition standards so I think a preliminary judgement on that is not totally unjustified. To be honest too his SPL style has tailed off for some time too.

That is how he came across in his post-match interview. I think too that Europe is putting him in a bad light compared to his success in the SPL. He would have had a lot less criticism if we hadnt been in Europe. However, I am glad we are because its only at that level that you can really see the strengths and weakness of our team and tactics. Its highloghted the way we play too high up and the defence gets caught out. You could even see that in SPL games but at that level you can get away with it most of the time. If he wants to play that high line he will need fast defenders.

I would like to revamp 'fritz a grand ol team' as its a bit old and cheesey, needs some fat beats
Im not happy with the start either gunt, but I think 'clueless' is harsh. I think Bratislava was a worse start. He did get us our first away win in * knows how long, I was happy with the way we played against Rapid, It wasnt the tactics that faild us, It was the personel he inherited IMO. Rapid put three past Hamburg and dumped Villa so there no mugs and we dominated a large part of the game without scoring because we have guys like Killen, Sameras, Mcmanus and Caldwell who aint good enough for the most part. There are too many players just happy to pick up the wages now and not give 100%. Having said that, he must learn and adapt as he wont have an awful lot of European experience. The players I have been happy with are the ones he brought in really, which is also a plus, you can play all the great tactics if you want but If you have guys there who make schoolboy mistakes, cant finish very well and cant direct a header on target when your unmarked in the box your not going to get very far and I have a feeling he knows this.. whether or not he gets the support of the board over the coming transfer windows is another story

He has a bit of a cusion going into the rangers game, I would say even a draw would not be the worst result so lets see how things go, so far I have not been enthralled but I do believe Tony has a direction and an idea of the sort of player we need.. Celtic have been lucky in the past, getting managers in and having instant success, its not always realistic in football though as managers need time to make there mark

give the guy a break! he's basically having to work with what he inherited barring a couple of his own signings. building a team takes time & its not fair judging him after such a short spell.

Im sure if you compare it with other managers Europen records in their 1st season in charge its not as bad as it looks.
