Why isn't cormier trying for a takedown? Jones is the man.

Cormier should be shooting? Jones has him everywhere.

Too long, too big, too many weapons......ive got it 49-46.

I think only Gus is capable of beating Jones, and i wouldnt put a lot on that happening.

Gustafsson fight was way better. He should be getting a rematch if he beats Johnson

I thought they were level after 2, and i wasnt sure how to judge the 3rd, but felt Jones shaded it........but the 4th was a bridge too far for Cormier and he looked out of it from then on.

    He was clearly gassed.

Expect him to stay at 205 win a couple this year and have a rematch at somepoint.

Aye 49-46 or 48-47 for Jones. I had 49-46. Would love to see Cain v Jones

I have Jones beating Cain tbh, no one has the answer to the problems he poses.

I feel the same, also I would love the Gus rematch next, for some reason I see Jones being much more dominant in the rematch

I personally dont think he will beat CV.I think he could, but i dont think he will.

To me CV is a bigger version of Cormier.Taller and stronger and just bigger.
I think Cormier did an amazing job beating so many top heavyweights for such a small guy, but i looked at him last night, and he still looked as though he could have cut another 10lbs.I dont think he was ever a natural heavyweight and i think if he could get his cardio a bit better, he could run JJ a bit closer.

CV to me is a natural heavyweight. In fact he could go up in muscle weight if he wanted, but obviously feels comfortable and athletic at 240 pounds.
In my opinion, JJ has a phenomenal build for a light heavyweight. He is skinny and long, but has a real great upper body build with good muscle mass, without being muscle bound.(Tommy Hearns)I think if he was to go up 20 or 30 pounds, he would maybe lose a bit of that incredible mobility he has.To me he has already pushed his frame to the optimum and i think he would be less effective at 240 or whatever.
That said, i think he could beat most of them just now without putting on weight....but i think CV is real top class, the best there has ever been so far at that weight, and i think he would beat him.He is stronger, bigger and younger than Cormier.
The way JJ talked at the post fight PC made me think he has it in his sights if and when he gets past Gus.......so i think the fight is a real possibility.I hope it happens.

edit.....i got the impression from the PC that he will quit the Light Heavyweight division once he gets Gus out of the way.

Only you could possibly take from that Presser that he wants to move up when every other time he's been asked he's said he will but is now suggesting otherwise.

He'll have to move up because once Gus beats Rumble and Jones takes him out again what else is out there for him other than rematches?

To be honest, i havent seen many of his PCs, but yes i realise it has been talked about for ages he will go up, but the way he said he will cement his place in as the best ever, after praising AS and GSP makes me think the Gus fight will be his last at LH.

I didnt watch the whole thing, only a 3 or 4 minute clip.

    I didnt see that.

Maybe he fancies doing it for a one or two off(or the minimum fights that would get him a title fight)and then to go back up to Heavyweight to be the first to win 3 weights!

I took from his comments across the Presser, post fight interviews and in the Studio with Jon Anik, Stann and Cruz that he will only go up for the right $$$ and it would only be against a smaller heavyweight.

Basically because that's exactly what he said :56:
