They have had problems before IIRC.

The 777 has a pretty good safety record in the 20 years its been in operation. The San Francisco crash last year was the first incident involving fatalities. Prior to that, the only death was a ground crew member who was refueling. Malaysia Airlines had a few incidents but only two prior to this had fatalities. One hijacking killing 100 and one due to pilot error killing 34.

There must be more info being withheld. Why did it take 4 days for the military to say they tracked it for a 100miles? The search was being carried out in the wrong area.

You're probably thinking of the new 787 Dreamliner - the 777 is one of the safest in the business. Very solid machine.

Heard that as well. Apparently, even if both engines fail, the pilot would still have plenty of time to make an emergency landing.

There is most definitely something rum afoot.

Simple answer is a Bermuda triangle type catalogue of events whereby the pilot was unaware of and bad readings ect.. The lack of coms would suggest this. They are all gone now (rip) but it's natural phenomena that's cause the crash.. I'd be investigating meteorological conditions before terrorism if I'm honest.

Extreme long shot but if anyone ever seen the event it might be like that where they used alien technology to make the plane transport to a different place, why they would do that I dunno unless someone knows the flight list, * knows why I've posted this it's basically impossible but man if the government raid ma house at 3 in the morning ill be ragin

I think the plane will come back in 10,20,30 years and everyone on it will be the same age as they are now....and they will have Elvis with them.

See they wee meteors that are always landing on earth, what would happen if one hit a plane?

Even if it was only small like the size of a golfball would it destroy a place or just not make any impact?

I know people are saying it has satellite etc, but that doesn't work when the thing exlposdes or crashes into the sea...

If the military were tracking an unknown plane - there was no transmitter signal - and it was heading in the general vacinity of their base, would they not scramble fighter jets?

I think the 777 could be in the Indian Ocean after cabin pressure was lost and the pilots became unconscious. The pilots could have tried to set the aircraft on a flight path back to the Malaysian Peninsula but when everyone on board lost conscious the 777 just burned up fuel till it ran out and hit the Indean Ocean.

It's hard to tell because most of them burn up in the atmosphere, but the rocks that make it through are usually much larger before they enter the atmosphere.

You've seen the damage that a golf ball sized piece of hail can cause? and that's only ice. So it's unclear how much damage rock would do But I can only imagine that it may leave a hole or it could get caught up in the engine. The chances of a plane being hit my a meteor are extremely rare.

The plane was flying from Kuala Lumpur, not Singapore, so that flight path is obviously wrong. Yet, if this did happen they would have still been able to see the plane on radar would they not?

I'm pretty sure that model and airline had altitudes problems before, that's all.
