I'm as * off at anyone that we haven't replaced Hooper at least. But I don't think there was many people on here that didn't think we already had enough about us to beat Shakhter.

Tonight was all about Lenny and the players, they * up big time. Of course we need to strengthen, but I'll wait till the transfer window ends before slating people outwith the management and playing staff.

after the elfsborg game away, samaras should have been back playing left midfield and never to be a loan striker again for us

do that and play our new striker who played and got man of the match against liverpool!!! why the * not ?

about time that wee * forrest was dropped

had we done this i've no doubt our performance would have been a lotttt bettter

Psychologically the heads went down tonight and it's been a long, long time since that has happened.

The signings just haven't been that great. I remember when Lenny took over and he sold McGeady. He took that money and signed lots of good players.

I really wanted this to happen this Summer, but it just didn't materialize.

We now have a critical ten day period to sort it out.

Mate although I would normally agree with that, this talk about waiting until the window closes is not as relevant to us anymore. Our season is all about Europe (at least the most important part of it) and we must as a club adjust to that. We need to get our business done early now and in the future as long as we have these qualifiers.

It doesn't matter a * that the window is open until the end of Aug (normally) as our most important part of the season for us is late July to mid/late August. Given our financial strength atm there are no excuses for us not to have all our business completed.

I suspect that possibility of us not reaching the CL groups was influencing The Board not just in buys but in outstanding contracts. If we look at those in last year of their contract, e.g Ledley, Stokes, Samaras and London, I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that next Thursday we were out of the CL and a building process was about to begin from top down.

We need to spend the Big Vic money to have a decent team again, it still leaves the club with near to £30m & IF we get int champ league we will earn another £20m giving the club around £50m even after spending the Wanyama money to re build the core of our team.

At the end of the day, the board, john Park, Lenny they're not really interested in what the fans want. We wanted Johhny Russell, nobody sanctioned the deal. We all kind of liked Mackay Steven, nobody sanctioned that deal.

These wouldn't have broken the bank, so there was no real reason not to have got players in early enough, to have taken them on pre-season to get a system going together and an understanding between the group.

Big sell on fees are more important than the football on the park

Remember when Arsenal wanted lawwell, well they must have found a similar guy, they refuse to spend and have won nothing in near enough a decade.

Stokes plays well on the astroturf to. The chances izzy had, he slots away no problem and Izzy sits and soaks up the long balls played to their right winger.

Funny I was just thinking that myself, no wonder they wanted him, he would fit in well down there too, can we sell our chief executive? :86:

I agree. We sold our primary goal scorer, we sold our midfield enforcer and we sold our best centre back.

Now lets look at what we have brought in, we brought in a dutch centre back who was supposed to partner wilson, not replace him. We have brought in a raw striker to lead the line in europe and give us something different, not a primary goalscorer though.

We have brought in boerrigter who i feel will be brilliant for us but again not a midfield enforcer nor a striker nor a defender.

We have brought in muoyokolo. A player who hasn't really played that much for a couple of years, a squad player really. Again not a direct replacement. We have not replaced the players we have lost, it is criminal not to have a primary striker.

Thats the thing that annoys me most, i think we can survive in midfield and defence but we needed a goal scorer and we still haven't got one yet. By not gambling on a striker for 3-5M pounds we stand to lose 20M. Somewhere along the line you need to take a chance.

The worst thing about all this is it's terrible business. The fact we have not re-invested could not only loose us a chunk of CL money but decrease the value of our current squad. We seem to be a selling club these days, next season we could be looking at top dollar for the likes of Forster (no doubt he'll want EPL football soon) if he has another good CL campaign but without that we can't demand the price we deserve for our players, that's what playing in the SPL does. Being in the CL is the most critical part of the way we are looking to run our club, yet our transfer activity contradicts that. I don't have a clue what's going on.
