That’s absolutely brutal for him, can’t wait to hear about it on Open Goal in about 5 years.

Poor Mikey thought he was going to enjoy a spell in Brazil

    Ends up causing chaos

Flamengo's football director, José Boto, does not hide his dissatisfaction with the board's veto of the hiring of Irish striker Mikey Johnston, and evaluates resigning from the position.

The escalation of the crisis in the football department comes from the elimination of the team in the Club World Cup, with the players' discontent with Boto and also with Filipe Luís.

Both approved the arrival of Mikey, who would land in Rio this week, but President Luiz Eduardo Baptista vetoed the agreement, pressured by Flamengo's political allies.

With this, the temperature in Gávea rose disproportionately, causing the caveats to Boto's work in the Vulture's Nest to transcend football and end up in the networks.

Now, the leader awaits Bap's support on the continuity of the work, which had a huge wear and tear evidenced, and the discourse of professionalism put in check.

Hope he keeps that stuff up man. He got a right hard time by the end up here, absolutely slaughtered off the fans when playing.

Crumbled under it. Too long had the chance as a promising player, injuries * it but when fit had enough promise still to be kicking around too long.

He has a lot of talent. Without that sort of pressure he can do * like the above clip. And hope he gets the most out of his career even if not here.

Heard some ridiculous comments regarding him man.

If he ever re-signs for Celtic you can be guaranteed that he would suffer a serious injury while warming up for his first game

Just not meant to be for the lad at Celtic

He isn't doing bad for Ireland either

He won’t ever. I doubt he’d even want to either.

There’s been a lot of good players that have crumbled with the weight of the shirt. At the end of his time here, he was one of them.

Soon as he went on loan, the absolute freedom and joy he was playing with was apparent.

That’s why we were excited about him as he first emerged as well. He had that. Every manager from BR both stints, Lenny, Ange… would say about him in training.

But he missed too much football, had too much from the support, and he crumbled. But he has a lot of talent. That’ll be apparent in his career IMO.

But in terms of ever coming back? Not a chance. Fans opinion of him. The fee it would probably take and the backlash to that. Nah, let him have his career elsewhere now
