Let's wait and see. Forrest couldn't stay fit for his first 3 or 4 seasons then he went 5 or 6 more or less injury free. Johnston looks a bit stronger now - not a skinny boy any more and I think he was fit for most of last season. If he stays fit he has bags of talent and could still be good for us.
I do admit though that now that he's in a position to get a few games to try to prove himself I'm just waiting for the announcement that he's picked up another injury. He's had so many false dawns.

    Sometimes it's thin margins.

If Yang didn't run into Oh, he could have had an assist vs Motherwell. Also won a penalty.

EDIT: That was Taylor. MJ played the ball for Yang's free header.

Still don’t like him as a player but you can’t deny he was an improvement this afternoon.

He’s actually showing up well just by being bright and positive which is arguably a bigger swipe at the others then praise for him tbh, that should be the default.

All MJ does is highlight how far off it our current wingers are.

He is a testament to the ridiculous summer window. Are Yang and Tilio so much better than they further enhance our squad compared to Johnston? For me Johnston is a far better player.

He was already injured for 3 months this season.

I like him and hope he continues to make an impression and hope he does well in his career but I can’t see it being here

Given the alternative given the injuries to Abada and Maeda is starting Yang I cannot see how he doesn't start Wednesday after another good showing off the bench today. Deserves the chance.

The flick to kyogo for matts goal took 3 St Johnstone players out the equation. He was an improvement on Yang today but that wouldn't be hard tbh. Give him a start on Wednesday and see what he can do against a better quality hibs team who will attack us

Loan and playing International football has definitely helped him..

This busy wee spell with Maeda and Abada out and before January will be his last chance to make it here..

Liked his interview after the game, he realises this..

Let's hope he stays fit and proves a large section of the support wrong..

fair play to him - had their left back all over the place when he came on.

Unless rodgers starts with 2 up top on Weds then he should start

    Does he?

    His output would suggest not.

Rodgers got a reaction of a different kind from Mikey Johnston, whose half-time introduction helped spark the Hoops into life.

The winger was 18 when he was handed a 2017 debut by Rodgers, ironically against St Johnstone, but he was given an ultimatum from him six years later.

He said: “The first thing I said to Mikey Johnston in the summer was, ‘You’ve got to show you’re fit’.

“He’s at the age where clearly he wants to play.

“But he was injured a lot, so he had to show thatrobustness. He’s done that.

“Mikey’s virtually always been available and he’s trained really hard. He looks more robust in his body now.

“The second thing I wanted to see was if he could tactically participate in the game. That’s the big challenge for him because in a one v one duel, he’s outstanding.

“Mikey can beat a man but football’s more than that. You have to be able to press the game, be synchronised with your team.

“Certainly, he’s shown he can come into a game and make a great impact. Mikey’s impact on Sunday was transformative for the team.

“Hopefully now he can show himself at 24 because he’s not a young player anymore. I gave him his debut at 18.

“If he can show he’s able to participate in the game then he can have a really bright next decade.”

    * * mikey johnston on a ten year deal ,its farcical that he even getting games .nowhere near good enough ,the fact he was better than yang counts for * all in the grand scheme of things only highlights how pathetic the recruitment is
