Schalke has a huge support, 3d largest in Germany after Bayern and Dortmund. They've underperformed, but they're a giant club in terms of support

It's not what he looks like after it happens, it's how he plays. First touch goes, finishing goes, misplaces passes etc. and it's clear to see that it's not his ability that's the problem.

Kenny Miller had the exact same issue with us, it's not something that's Pukki's problem alone, the pressure at Celtic isn't for everyone. His physicality wasn't the problem with him.

I'm glad he's doing well at Brondby, most of the fans here quite like him, just don't think he's good enough though.

The point with Schalke is they can happily lose things, they aren't expected to win every game, regardless of the opposition. Every little touch is analaysed back and forth, absolutely everything. There's a reason Glasgow's called the Goldfish bowl in terms of football.

This means nothing. Schalke are miles off being the 7th best team in Europe.

How many times do we hear on here that foreign players need time to settle in new countries? Balde falls into that category, and so does pukki. They would both be playing under new managers aswell

For Pukki's sake, I hope we can agree something with Brondby, he seems happy there.

It seems he is out of their reach fee wise though, I'd presume we'd want to recoup a decent chunk of the 2 million (?) we paid fro him.

I don't think Pukki was tough enough for Scottish football and looked like a rabbit in the headlights. He definitely has skill and is fit enough. But if he came back he should work on his upper body and do some after hours with Broony. Needs to grow a set of balls. As for big Balde wouldn't be sad not to see him back!

I will be glad to see the back of Balde. He was worse than that joker who played for hibs against Sevco

Pukki was a decent footballer but he was a loser a person. Didnt have the fight for playing for us.

They're both finished here. Balde wouldn't suit Ronny's style of play and Pukki is dung.

Why you say "the many sort of bitchy articles". I'd say he'd avoid media usually. He's a humble and honest type of guy he'd never blame the standard of Scottish football or any other country. It was Herald Scotland that first put bad words in Pukki's mouth. Soon the same words were cited in Daily Record and other media.

Here's how he thinks about the standard of football in Scotland. I have posted this article once before but I do it again. Don't you read or don't you like to remember what Pukki has said?

"The Scottish media interpreted Pukki wrong - "It did not go so well that I could criticize"

Teemu Pukki was alleged to characterize the Scottish first league low level when the attacker was signed from Celtic to Danish Brondby. According to the attacker his words were misunderstood.

In the middle of the week the Scottish media reported Finland's striker Teemu Pukki to consider the local league low level.

Pukki moved on a loan from Glasgow Celtic to the Danish Brondby in the summer transfer window.

In the media the attacker was quoted as if he had described the Scottish first league "as having only one good team."

    - In Denmark I was asked which league is better. I did not mean to say as was reported in Scotland. I meant that in Denmark more teams are fighting for the championship, while in Scotland in recent years Celtic have won the championship with a farely big difference, Pukki tells on the eve of the UEFA EURO 2016 Qualifiers.

    - I'm in no way saying the league is poor. I do not have any right to say so, it was not going so well that I could criticize. There are many good teams. This is how the media acts sometimes.

Pukki works hard and can take chances that come his way, but doesn't really do it on a consistent enough basis. Might have a future here, but never as a regular starter. Balde is just gash.

This one I agree with (for the past at least) and has been frustrating to me as well. What I see as the main reason is the lack of a complete season in the starting eleven playing 90 minutes regularly, in a better league than Finland. Now this has happened and I really believe it will make a difference in the long run. Routine brings consistency.

I did hear before that Lennon didn't want Balde anyway said he was * and useless which well is pretty accurate, I want him back for 1 game just to hear 'Amido Amido Amido * Balde!' one last time :icon_mrgreen:
I think Pukki is a player that would thrive under Ronny but I don't think Ronny wants to keep him anyway.

All the skills are there, with regular full minutes in the eleven he'll become a consistant scorer. He has already scored 9 goals in 15 games as a lone striker. He's fast, works hard, has better shot and stronger presence than ever before, good vision and play recognition. He's has shown already he can make some great progress even at the age of 25.

I'm not saying that he returns to Celtic but you never know what happens in football. However he'd be a good lone striker option for Ronny. Ronny needs a striker with some pace and timing to take the ball and shoot it in the net.

He had decent games at Celtic. This one is one of the best although he played only 40 mins. He initiated two goals (earned a free kick and penalty) and scored once himself.

Pukki had the ability to be successful at Celtic. The season he's had was pretty poor, but he's done better at Brondby. I wouldn't be against him getting more of a chance next season - the only problem is that we'd have Griffiths, Scepovic and Pukki. Not exactly going to put the fear in Champions League sides.

Balde surely can't have any hope of making it here.
