There is no point in having midfielders continually chasing the ball all over the park, it is better just to give to them. The biggest crime in football is turning possession into a 50/50 ball. Yesterday Donati, Brown and Naka were taking the ball from defenders and creating all sorts of havoc. Long may it continue.

O'Dea is a no for me specialy for CL games lack of exprience maybe in the next year or 2 i would say yes, Kennedy hes a very good player but has to improve for me but thats normal for a player whos been out for around 3 years maybe next season yes but this season no, i would use Kennedy only for back up, Cawdwell looks the best partnership with McManus but he can be to causal sometimes, can be so cocky and loss the ball and in the CL thats were you will get punished for those mistakes dont get me wrong he did well in the Hearts game but to be fair our defence wasnt tested.

I like having Minnie & Mick in the centre back. W have a few good options there with JFK showing his class there, but Caldwell like someone touched on earlier is more of a thinker. Instead of just clearing the ball he looks for the player in the best position to receive it.
Him and Mick will be the mainstay from now on unless either picks up an injury.

Great competition this season. Even on-form players like JFK and Kenny lose their place if they miss a single game through injury and the replacements come in and play great. I think Gary has possibly won himself the shirt v Spartak after appearing to blow his chance v Aberdeen. As I said, the Aberdeen game was his first competitive 1st team game at centre back in something like 9 months. I like the partnership. I think JFK is possibly a better old fashioned defender but he will need maybe a dozen more 1st team games before 3 years of rustyness (mainly positional sense) is gone. Gary or JFK v Spartak?? Tough call.

It's not that I don't agree with you. It's because you are a *. You accused me of slagging Kenny Miller and I asked you to show me a post where I slagged him off and you couldn't so you just forget about the allegation. You come across as someone who has no * idea about football or Celtic FC.
I think you are the biggest * on TC so YOU * deal with it.

You are a negative * with a * bad attitude.
Some would say you are just a wind up merchant but I think you're to * thick for that

Caldwell & McManus were a good partnership up until the infamous Benfica match. Caldwell was also taking injections for a heal injury to keep his place from Balde who was looking for his place back. He did well and I dont mind him in the team at all.

Also, Kennedy doesnt need to play every game this season just because he's missed so much. He's shown that he's still got it but it will take time to get it all together. We have good competition and cover for centre back. Seems to me that Kennedy was rested for a purpose, maybe for the UCL match. Is that surprising? Not at all.

I never said you personally slagged him off... "you" was aimed at everyone who was slagging him. As for being the biggest * on TC, i dont care. Your the one whos getting wound up by it not me.

And as for being "to * thick", i assure you my intelligence exceeds the intelligence of a ex singer in an irish band... do you sign on?

And what makes you such a football guru? by the looks of it you havnt shifted your * from the couch to excercise a muscle in your body for the past 20 years.

I like Caldwell although there were times that he gave me a few heart attack moments last year (I'm not referring to the Benfica game as that was harsh on him) and having watched him against hearts it seems he has improved, i like JFK but as has been pointed out he will need a good few months of getting back into the game and if he can recover the form he had before injury then he will give Strachan a headache over who to pick.

O'Dea is up and coming and will look to break into the team. Given his performances last season he did himself absolutely no harm in putting his name int he frame for a starting spot, hopefully he remains patient enough to want to stay and work his place into the first team.

I take it we can expect to see Caldwell and McManus on Wednesday night?
