Hooper is young, got a better strike rate in his first two seasons then Larsson himself which shows how much qaulity Hooper has got to unlock still, while Owen is nothing more then a BFF for the physio.

If Owen were to have kept up his class from his early days at Liverpool there would be no contest right now as Owen would be one of the worlds best strikers but he didn't and right now Hooper is the better striker as he is fit and in better condition and will get us more goals then Owen would because of it.

If we sign him and no doubt put him on big wages it will be a massive step backwards. He is finished he was * finished years ago.

I'd rather see our young talent come through and transfer wise I want to see us spend over £5Million on a proven young workhorse striker who you will be confident of in Europe.

Lawwell * about like he has done the past years and we'll get embarrassed in Europe simple as that.

don't think it's his fault tbh I just think our team in the last two seasons with Lennon have been slow starters at the start of our campaigns as once it gets to midway we are all saying lets us x and y again and see what happens this time

There is no way Hooper is better than Owen, but I get what they mean. I'd still rather Hooper in my team because of Owens age and injury history.

Really hope he dosent come. Rather go for a big target man. Owne would play 4-5 games get an injury and be useless.

people are banging on about his age and the fact that hooper is so much younger we all know he wants to play in epl so that can be ruled out lets be honest if a half decent club comes in for him with a * offer he will be gone, i am not knocking hooper by the way

Southampton seem to be the only ones interested in him and they are no big enough to tempt him away from us.

agree but i would think we will get a few offers from some lower epl clubs soon poss mid table finishers and if thats the case i think he will be gone as he has stated he wants to play in the epl and play for england, i think that this will be his last season here but that might depend on the euro run if we do proper * like a sion again then there is no reason to stay, so back to my first statement i would take Owen ,

Other thing is we have stokes and watt so if we had owen and buy a big striker then i dont see how it would make any difference , if owen can stay fit i would rather have him in europe

If southampton come in for him he'll pick them over us. They will offer him a ridiculous wage and they will be playing in the premiership next year.

Dont see him going there he will get top wack here after negotiations what will that be 30k ? he would go there and risk going down I dont think that will happen I think it would take a club who would stand a very good chance of staying up a mid table club or someone slightly lower but not a club who will prob be fighting for the drop ,

I'd rather stick with Gary Hooper and Anthony Stokes and bring in a target man.

Kinda how a mentioned this with Gordon and if they stay fit stuff we all wish they do but they really won't Owen is not reliable enough to justify the wage he would be given to spend most of the time being a test dummy for the Physio.

If Hooper is to leave us Owen is not the answer

For me we'd be buying a name, not a player. Nothing against Michael but he's past it in my eyes. Not to mention the ridiculous wages he'd be on. :38:

Be sorely disappointed if this comes to fruition.

Even being past it, he scores in near every game he starts in the epl? Imagine what he'd score up here! He wont come here though, more chance of a unknown big guy who wanyama met down the gym :icon_mrgreen:

sorry mate but he got minimal goals this seaon he only played 4 games and scored 3 times in cup games against Leeds and Aldershot, while Leeds are probably on par with some of the SPL teams that record is not something worth boasting

The problem is his injuries. It's no secret that the pitches up here are * and I can't see him staying fit playing on a half frozen pitch away to the likes of St Mirren etc on a cold December night.
