If he agreed to play for free then why not have him around

Other than that,I see no reason to jettison any of our young forwards to make room for him

I seen him doing that interview on SSN and he came across as a bit up himself and arrogant.

Said something like "Im scoring basically every time I play" and kinda snubbed the Championship as if it was below him.

The Championship is below him and if he feels he can still do a job at higher level, why not rule out a move lower?

On a Pay as you play deal, why not, he'd still score a lot, and be a good mentor for Hooper

He's only made 131 appearances in the last 7 year. An average of 18.7 per season and thats appearances, 48 of them were as a sub. So hes probably only playing about 1000 minutes a season.

He'd need to prove he can play a whole season before anyone will properly trust him, the Championship would be ideal.

He's not got much time to go down and back up he's getting old but would take him for a season due to experience, he may be like hooper but he's been there and done it, would defo get goals and help other youngsters like keatings and watt etc

I'd take him if wages were cheap ish. He is better than most we've got and will score in Europe. Even if he manges 2 games before injury and scores in both getting us into champions league that'll do

if he wants to take the pay cut and compete with the rest for a spot in the squad, i'd welcome him. He's scored everywhere, even for Utd in this last spell

as said before pay as you play and could be a good mentor for younger strikers but he better not take the number 7 shirt which I think he would need to stop given it to players he will be here for a season then leave

Think Moyes will take him to Everton . That is his boyhood club sure he would jump at the chance.

His dad is a Celtic fan so he does have a soft spot for us.

Is something developing? It seems that all of a sudden the tone of these posts have changed from "aye right" to "well, if it happens..."

Also, lot of noise about it on facebook. To be expected I suppose...

Part of me wants to take him here for a while because he was a quality striker in his prime and would undoubtedly rip up the SPL, even today.

It's Europe that I'm more preoccupied with though. Would he still do the job against some of the better European sides? We should probably be aiming for someone a bit younger, but with decent experience.
