We couldn't possibly say no if Owen wanted to join and the deal was right.

He scores everywhere he plays and would give us experience we need and I bet a lot of goals.

I think if we could get 30 games out of him it would be worth it pay as you play.

Shevchenko at his best was better at Del Piero and I love Del Bhoy. Shevchenko was something else early to middle noughtys.

People need a serious reality check. I know it's not cool to mention the unmentionable, but we're talking about playing for Celtic here. The level of competition we face is more often than not pathetic. So-called 'has-been' players, like Owen, would romp the SPL, in particular, and still have more to offer in general.

A fit Owen romps anywhere, thats the chance we need to take though. I'm more bothered about experience though.

Owen playing off Hooper would be brilliant for Champions League games IMO.

Also with R*ngers gone to sh*te surely doing something in Europe will be our main aim next season and it is players like Owen who we need.

I'd still fancy him to pop up with vital goals in massive games.

We don't know how close Hooper is to the England team but I bet playing alongside Owen could make a huge difference, the amount he could learn from him to improve his own game.

At a fair price, wage-wise I'd take him. But realistically don't fink it's gona happen.

1year maybe 2 out of him, would have to be a fair deal I suppose.

    Good player when fit etc

    Correct.

Owen was a decent striker who got overhyped because he was English.

Has a lot of experience at a high level though, and I still feel Hoops could learn a lot playing alongside him...

His record for England is outstanding tbf, 89 games 40 goals at international level is hard to beat. There's no question that he has a lot of experience which could be passed on to the younger players, but no matter what anyone says it's a risk taking him on because no-one knows how many games you will get out of him, could be 30 could be 3 nobody knows, whether he's worth the risk will be up to Lenny and Lawell to decide.
