Sign a CDM and a CB without the need to massively sell (aside from the obvious), then this guy is really proving he's doing things differently than Peter lawwell.

I've been a big critic of the board, still am and still being very cautious with them, but so far, even just with a different guy at the head of the table, we are doing so much better it would seem.

Get this window done with, where we get the last of what we need in the door and hats off to them.

Always said it, more than one way to balance the books.
And looks like we are doing it with the focus on football first, which brings financial success.

A quality DM and it takes the top spot from January 2022.

 

Feels like back in the MON days just now, where we actually seem like we want to make proper progress. If we can get a belter of a dm and a centre half to challenge Starfelt, we're going to have some season.

 

Indeed, that was well in motion before he was even in the frame.

 

The mood of the place just now, the way we seem to be approaching things, you could allow/argue that he may have been the one to see sense.

He certainly comes across as doing things better and for the benefit of the club/squad/fans rather than the old pals/balanced books approach of PL.

That's my thoughts on it too, only the people close and involved will know 100%, but like you say chances are this guy was the one to end the nonsense with Higgins.

I have a feeling its a new era with the club, the feel, the mood and the togetherness the club are showing is like when McCann saved us. There seems to be a more progressive/professional feel to us. I hope it continues.

My only slight doubt is the shifting of deadwood from the club, many players in the background never making it here especially with the style ange wants to play.

 

Amazing what qualifying for the CL directly can do and also having a competent manager and a CEO backing him

Yeah, I can't think of many better.

It's great that it's still only July and we've done some serious business already.

Ironically, it feels like the first summer we'd be properly prepared for CL qualifiers and yet we don't even have them.

 

Think he deserves a huge amount credit to be fair. Ange absolutely deserves this backing and am glad to see him getting it. Feels like we are a club with ambition right now.

Was always a bit perplexed when we appointed Rodgers and then never really upped our spending in any notable way.

Think we are in for a special few seasons. The start of this one still feels a lifetime away!

 

He's making Lawwell look like a * * frankly.. scrambling in the latter stages of the window to fill positions was always a sign of a deep incompetence in the way we conducted business.

I said that at the start of last season, transfer windows since Ange has came in have been fantastic

 

So, all these years that people kept telling me how great a job Lawwell does, we actually already had a competent * in the back office who would have known that you need to do your business early so compete for a CL place and that a CEO isn't a DOF and should leave transfers to his manager? Mind-blowing. Pistol Pete must be terrified that he will be found out so fast by a guy who worked at the club for over a decade, if I remember correct.

Keep your good work up Michael! Relieving to see a CEO knowing how to work together with a manager.
