as for micks last ditch tackling, thats because his positioning was so poor he had to make last ditch tackles. if he read the game better he could cut the danger out earlier.

can o'dea perform just as good as mick if not better - i would also say yes

for those 2 reasons i would say if we were to get a bid for him then i don't think it would be our biggest loss.

 

cant fault his attitude BUT if he wasnt captain last season then he would have missed most of the season so if he stays cool but if we get a good price then brilliant

agreed that heid and gloovens is a better partnership but as for odea being better than mcmanus? are you having a laugh? id rather odea left because simply he aint ever going to break into the first team. Mcmanus proved once that he can play at this level, he needs to do it again.

celtic have 4 hours to sign player before Champions leagu deadline. No chance every Celtic target takes four weeks. I know things are tight but every target we go for is either degraded by offering a loan or miles apart in valuation

 

Its not odea's fault that he was never given the chance. i remember the one chance he did get was against Ac milan in the last 16. He never looked out of place there.

Defensively odea is a better CB than big Mick in my opinon.

Problem of selling big mick for £3 million is that we would have to pay at least near double that to replace him for a good centre half. Celtic wont do that. O'Dea for me aint a replacement at all. O'Dea isn't up to scratch for me. So if big mick does go, Who comes in to replace him thats better for what Celtic need in Europe as well as League games? I only wish i knew as right now Celtic will get priced out for any class centre half.

 

aright but mick played in all our recent champions league wins not just the one against ac milan. odea aint good enough for celtic, not even as back up. hes only been in the squad over the past few years because he was under 21 otherwise balde would have been on the bench.

That’s a fair point. However he has ALSO played in all of our recent defeats in Europe. Chipping in with a good few defensive howlers along the way.


I think odea has enough quality to be adequate cover for Caldwell and loovens. He can also slot in to the LB position

Def not the solution to our LB troubles but at least we know he is there if we are struggling for players.


There was no chance of balde being on the bench mate. He wasn’t kept out of the team because they had to play odea because of the u21 rule. If they had any interest in involving balde in the 1st team then they would have had im in the starting 11 because he was better than mick

Granted he had * ups like mick but at least he put fear into the opposition and went thro everything that was in his road.
