Anyone think if Celtic do sell McManus for 4-5 mil could we get a player like Richard Dunne... Dont know if he would come but it would be worth making a bid for him... An excellent player who man city probably will sell if they buy Lescott or some other A grade defender...

No we keep him, if we sell him we need to buy another CB definately then, but we know what we get with mcmanus so even if he is on the we know when he comes on hel play well, no need to worry that hes not experianced enough, and mcmanus at his best is very good

mc manus has terrible, he is the reason naylor has been so bad........ naylor has to cover so much ground because mcmanus was constantly out of position......... its not coincidence that we played better with loovens at the back

What's the latest on Kennedy? If he ever returns he would become our best defender. He was so good as a very young player. I really hope we see him in the hoops again. solid few years behind him and he'd be proper good.

Richard dunne was a liability last year for city. I wouldnt want him i would rather stick with someone who is passionate for the club and younger who still has his best years to come

I'd take 3-4 million for him.. The big man loves the club, but his distribution is woeful.. He also doesn't know the right time to put a tackle in.. A calamity at the best of times!

Hope this rumour is true and Wolves put an offer in.

i'd say this is a bag of *. micks too big a man to walk away because he may have the captaincy taken off him. we dont need to sell, he'll wanna stay and win the league back rather than watch wolves get hammered every week

I reckon McMadness will stay at least a year, to fight for his place and it might just make him a better player.

sorry but i wouldnt sell the man!

he gets some power of gash from fans as they seem to think anything that goes wrong is always his fault?i think he will have a good season this year under mowbray and this time perhaps others in the team will help him this time?

in fairness i think a lot of people were miffed last season when he held onto his place when he wasnt fit or on form and at a point we were leaking goals and there are other players in our squad who get it tight for far less

that is true but the captain should lead by example. rather than act a martyr and play when he wasnt fully fit he should have ruled himself out

that shows you the kind of guy he is! he has heart, courage and desire to play when hurt! peter grant was the same and so too were others! its not a bad thing but i agree with you aswell that a fitter person should play instead.but you cannot have a dig at someone for showing commitment like that.

would never have a dig at him for showing commitment but i would have a dig at him for playing when he's not 100%, to the detriment of the team. grants one of my all time favourite hoops for that very reason, he'd have run through brick walls for the hoops.

if you were so good you could get through a match playing at 70% then grand, but mick doesnt have that luxury

fair comment mate! granty was a top player for me too!but like i say mic isnt the worst cb we have had and i think this year if all the others pull their wieght(and im sure they will) then mic might feel less preasruised(spelling lol:celt_2:) and that could help him to play a little better. i like him i think he still rough around the edges too but he still is a good cb.

i like him too my man, as you say rough round the edges, would perhaps even remind you of mc carthy himself?

as for others pulling their weight though, heid bailed mick out loads of times last season, i thought his positioning was atrocious at times. a good ball winner and tim but not a celtic captain for me

yeah heid did mate defo! but last season mic had a few good saving tackles too! perhaps he lost a fair amount of confidence a s a result ? mogga will help him out with all that im sure seeing the big man was a centre half himself. and if mic turns out to be another mic mccarthy? then that will do as i thought mm did a good job here.
