Am not the manager. Thats just my opinion obviously is we do sell then we will replace. If we dont sell we dont but i think mcmanus should be back up to Loovens.

He has been decent for the Bhoys...not brilliant ....but does try I do think it's time for him to move as he's not been a leader on the park for awhile now....We need to be giving the youth a chance....just like Mick got his!!!

lol dream on, bougerra and cuellar are much much better than "big mick", hes not my fav player so maybe im bias, but i said wen lennon retired that mick should not have been givin the arm band because people have to look up too a captain and noone looks up to mcmanus, simply because he isnt good enough, he cant pass, he cant head a ball and he is slower than a week in jail, so what are his best attributes guys?

If we got good money for him i'd let him go and let big loovens and caldwell play in the middle with o'dea as back up.

If its true there intrested would it be worth a swap deal?

Think Berra would be a better back-up for Loovens/Caldwell/O'dea. Also think Ilwellumo could be a decent player in the SPL if he gets back to fitness.

Anyone seen much of Stephen Ward? Mate was saying we should try for him. Supposedly able to play left-back and stricker so could be a shout if hes any good and there after McAnus

The problem is this, even if big Mick is slightly below par and we sell for say £3 million who do we replace him with? With the market as it is we would need double that to get a player that is his equal, purely because of EPL wages etc.

So we would have to be careful, is it worth selling for £3m and buying for £6m just for a 'wee change'??

The lads right. Most celtic fans are hypocrites these days. Just look at last season. "Jan venegor of hesselink" The guy was tremendus for us since his arrival and scored some important goals and alota people called for his head because of his 1 bad season. Complete Joke

Same scenario for mcmanus. Big Mick has been a great player for us however he had 1 bad season and everyone thinks "hes never been good enuff" "*" etc

Both players are good footballers that had 1 bad season so get off his back. Are we rangers fc? Do we need to sell? No.....

Some people need to their priorities right and stop being small minded. :38:

Your a hypocrite. Just because loovens had a few good games covering mcmanus doesnt mean he is a better player. Mcmanus has been a solid player for us, your the type of fan this club doesnt need.

no am not players lose form it happens then other players come in. Simple as that.
Unfortunately thats was happens in football. Look what happened to Shevchenko at Chelsea lost form got shipped out.
Am not going to get all sympathetic towards a player if he loses form we need players at there best at Celtic. At the end of the day its up to them to sort it out.

you can * off with that last statement. Christ its an opinion am not runnin the club!!!!!

i would pay someone to take mcmanus, yes he is celtic through and through but he is not good enough, bad decision making, rash tackles, no pace, not vocal enough to be captain.

i admire him for his attitude but its a new era and he needs to move on.

I think that Mick is a good defender, but he isn't a Captain.
The burden he carries is too much for him and I believe that stripping him of the Captaincy would be the making of him.
Unfortunately, being demoted in any job bruises your ego and I think that Mick would probably take it that he isn't good enough.
I think you would have seen a difference if Caldwell was Captain and Mick his able assistant, because Caldwell rallies and bawls the troops and has good footballing skills, but Mick is an old fashioned defender, where he is happy kicking into row z.
The last statement will mean that Mick may not get his place back because he can't pass a ball, but saying that, he did lay on a beauty for Sheridan I remember at CP last season
Cross roads time for Mick me thinks

McManus is a good player on paper. Scotland captain, Celtic captain, CL Experience, international experience, young...

Just when he gets on the pitch the problems start. The EPL is crazy, though, and McCarthy has never been the greatest in transfer deals.

    £5 million and he's yours!

no point selling our best defender. I know he had a bad season last year but once back this year and fully fit and if he gets back on top form then we will have a quality defender again
