McManus is Shite

I wrote on this site at the start of the season that the team WGS has assembled were not good enough and I was villified by some of the green tinted specs brigade and unfortunatley I seem to be proven correct.

I wouldt give Strachen TUPENCE to spend he would only throw it away on mediocricy.

Boruc, Naka and Naylor have been his only succeses.

I know he has had to sell players, but the majority of monies that has been brought in has been re invested and Iam sorry to say not wiseley. He has had four atempts to get his midfield right and all he seems to do is swap like for like Gravesen,Jarosik,Donati and brown all attacking midfielders not one of them ofers enough protection to the defense.

As for the defense the only defender weve got who can dominate a game is Balde and yes he has his flaws but how many mistakes can pressley and caldwell get away with before WGS can see that they shouldt be anywere near the team.And anyone who highlights the sending of in seville and Balde´s handball against lyon as a reason for not playing him is misguided as these mistkes were made at the highest level of football not agaist inverness and hearts.

As for Mick I was also against him being captain as he is still young and needs to improve his game and he would not have be an automatic first choice CB Their is no doubt he has got ability but he can be caught out of position and is guilty of ball watching especialy at CPL level. Boruc should have been given the armband.

Strikers Killen a waste of space. JVH although he scored twice today if he doest score he cotributes nothing another 4 million spent on two questionable strikers. Ok Scot Macdonald has been a suprise he works hard and cotributes to the cause but shouldt be our best striker does WGS know a player.

At least 70% have been failures and I for one dread to think what he is going to buy in January.

We need a decent reseve Keeper. Two full backs maybe a centre half a ball winner in midfield. And a quality forward.

Does everyone think WGS is the guy to identify them to make us better???????????????????????????????

Btw Cech made an awful mistake today, I guess Chelsea should get rid of him too! Or we should've got rid of Boruc for his howlers this season.

We lost, defence didn't do well, we move on and get behind the team.

McManus is a top defencer, probably our best and one on the best in the SPL, again, if not the best in the SPL

He has held ourdefence together since he came into the team. I wouldnt like to see our league possition and we're we would (or would be!) in Europe without him!

FFS! This thread is bullshit. The only defender that comes close to Mick is Cuelar. Who else would you have from the SPL in place of him?

The guy has had to play with at least 4 different centrehalf partners plus a back-up keeper. The central defence is based on undrestanding what your parnter is going to do, that comes from consistancy, which is what we haven't had this season at the back.

mcmanus was poor but surely your being a tad harsh, thought we should be winning today with no probs and we are all entitled to a whinge when we lose like we did although lets be careful how far we take it

 

Like it or not the SPL is our level. If we have the best players in the Spl in every position then we win the league.

Hi mate, You havent got a * clue. Every player is entitled to a bad game. He is human after all. Hes the best defender in scotland.

 

I like McManus but I feel he is a player who has peaked.
We have lots of young players who are growing with every game (McGeady, Brown for example) but McManus doesn't seem to be getting to the level that we thought he would. He is a mediocre defender and we must face it. He may be the best we have but all that says is that we have a * defence and we do know it.
