Personally I'll watch it of course, however I don't expect anything at all. people been talking how it's gonna be the best and biggest fight ever when it fact it will be one sided, also qualitywise nothing special and perhaps not even a spectacle. it's the most hyped fight ever, the most expensive as well?

both men understand how to make much, much money. have to say I completely lost all respect for both due their shows and somehow wished somebody else came on and kicked the * out of both of them pranksters.

but as I said, I'll be watching too - not live, but as soon as I get up I'll put it on.

That's basically all it is to me to. A money grab but an intriguing one, I can't deny that. I think after the first round or two the writing will be on the wall though, and the stoppage will follow. People will be left scratching their heads wondering why on earth they ever bought into the hype.

Mate, you really need to roll a reefer before this fight. You are uncharacteristically wound up to * by McGregor.

I think you might end up having a stroke if he catches Floyd with a left in the first minute. I can picture you making a YouTube video greeting at how boxing has been ruined by a big, bad MMA fighter.

    :rofl::52:

There's only one person who's wound up here and it isn't me. I can't stand Floyd and would laugh my * of if he got knocked out and ruined a 20+ year legacy. *, I picked Floyd as my most hated sportsperson in a thread on this very forum!

I'm a realist though. I know the gap in the ability to effectively fist fight here is ridiculously huge. Hence why I would happily tell everyone that backing McGregor at the odds on offer is mental.

If you weren't so focused on hero worshipping the 'classy' McGregor you would see that too.

We'll see on Saturday, won't we. That's the beauty of competition.

Until then though, take it easy.

Well not really, you've said yourself here that it would be a massive update. In your own words 'more of an upset that Leicester winning the league'. Personally I don't agree with that statement, but I does suggest you should also find the odds on offer to be ridiculous.

I know some people ride Mcgregors nuts at times, (including me) but you cant deny that he is a class act with the fans.

I genuinely don't even know what it means. Or at least don't understand how being a class act with the fans relates to being an overall classy person.

My argument is that neither of these guys are 'classy' on the sense that they both have almost no filter, no discretion, massive ego's, are driven primarily by money and see materialism as a measure of someone's worth. It could well all be for show (I suspect in McGregors case he's actually nothing like the character he plays), but are we meant to say that we know the real guys behind these characters? Nah, I think you basically have to judge them at face value.

He may well get along well with his fans but that isn't really a rare attribute. Being a classy person isn't the same thing to me. Classy to me is old world charm, chivalry, kindness to those around you, respect, etiquette etc. Neither of these guys are the picture of any of those traits.

Embarrassing how much this is hyped up. All so people buy into it on PPV and they make millions. They are probably best mates behind closed doors hahaha

    This 'fight' is pure farce..

Some of the best boxers in the World couldn't get near Mayweather..

Fight will probably go on for a good few rounds though to maximise betting opportunities.

I'm 28. I would imagine my definition of classiness is closer to most people's than flaunting * on Instagram and posing with your top off.

Unless of course you're actually a teenage girl? :50:

Good age, you might get the call for red panty night when he's done with Mayweather.

Having more boxing experience than him and that...

"Old world charm" doesn't sell a fight.

McGregor is classy. The fact he flaunts how much money he's got is part of his persona and he has every right to do that since he was on benefits 5 or 6 years ago. If you've seen any interaction with fans, the media who show him the same respect, other athletes then you'll realise this.

He's also a master at his craft of selling fights. As is Mayweather.

Mayweather isn't classy, but he's not a bad guy. He does some classy things but he also does stupid things like threatens old men who are interviewing him.

Conor has his own red panty night lined up this weekend, haven't you heard?

Floyd showering him with money while he sits ther open mouthed in a polar bear coat. Like the two peas in a pod they actually are.

I think we've all seen who's the A side but you keep peddling your nonsense and you might end up believing it yourself.

Being a classy guy didn't seem to stop the Klitschko brothers, GSP or Manny Pacquiao from selling well. It hasn't stopped Anthony Joshua from becoming one of the biggest sports stars in the UK. But I agree partially, a classy build up probably wouldn't have sold this fight anywhere near as well because of the target audience.

"Mayweather is classy. The fact he flaunts how much money he's got is part of his persona and he has every right to do that since he came from a horrific childhood. If you've seen any interaction with fans, the media who show him the same respect, other athletes then you'll realise this.

McGregor isn't classy, but he's not a bad guy. He does some classy things but he also does stupid things like threatens old men from Showtime who have helped him make the biggest payday of his life."

You see, you can tell that story both ways. I've not idea why I'm on this arguing about the classiness of these two guys tbh :giggle1: but the McGregor fan club is famously defensive of any criticism of their man.

Believe he's a classy guy if you want - it is kinda subjective afterall. I think we must differ greatly on the meaning of the word though. Flaunting * ain't classy. Getting in the face of an old man and challenging him to 'do something' while you're a professional fighter isn't classy. What really isn't classy though, is something that we probably agree with - he's probably nothing like this in reality and his persona is entirely manufactured to sell and make money. That really sucks. It's no reason to not support the guy or like him - he's a fighter and a million miles away from some of the worst men who have stepped in the ring/cage (on a personal level I mean). But classy? Not even close for me.
