What is everyone’s thoughts on neither of those two playing yesterday? I think it shows that Mowbray still doesn’t have enough confidence in them to throw them into "big" games! I was in disbelief when I seen the team with 1 winger and 3 CM’s, especially playing Robson on the right wing he can’t do anything with his right foot as we seen…. I don’t think it was a case of wanting to keep it tight in the midfield because I really feel had Maloney been fit he would have went with him and McGeady with 2 CM’s!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

All that needed to be done yesterday was play mcginn instead of crosas and move robson inside to give us the bit of dig.Mcourt is a liability when we are not in posession of the ball.I like mcginn he is direct and you know what you are going to get from him.

It was the third main management blunder I thought about yesterday, after a) Defensive organisation and b) Fortune starting.
The entire game Robson was playing as a right winger, yet time and time again he'd plod into the right flank and realise he doesn't have a right foot resulting in numerous moves breaking down. And this is a position where we have something like 6 natural right wingers competing for the spot! Why fit a square peg into a round hole?
I can understand part of the reasoning - we needed a bit of fight in the midfield to ensure we don't get overrun. So if Robson tucked in, fair enough. But as a right midfielder he never got the chance to tuck in!
In the end we had a N.Ireland international who got MOTM against Serbia, a natural right-winger just coming into his own who can offer direct pace and an end product, languishing on the bench! Infuriating! -
At the very least, McGeady should have been on the right and Robson on the left!! I would have thought that would have made a bit more sense, Robson had to cut back every single time he got the ball bar the one occasion he tried to cross it with his right foot in the 1<SUP>st</SUP> half and it ended up in row Z…:31:

If theese guys are not going to get a run in the first team then they should be sold . TM does not fancy them so whats the point of holding on to them

I can see McCourt not getting a start yesterday as he was awful against Falkirk but why McGinn didn't start yesterday is beyond me. Clearly Robson should have been in the middle and McGinn on the right.
Having said all that for me yesterdays game just showed up the same problems we have seen all season again. Even though we dominated possession for long spells and had most of the pressure we didn't create much with it and when we did both McDonald and Fortune just don't look up to much. While at the back we were not put under much pressure but it rarely takes much from the opposition for us to crack as we did once again. McGinn and McGeady should be first pick wingers imo. Flair on one side and pace and direct running on the other. McCourt is great to watch but I dont think he can be consistent enough to make a big impact on our season

Being honest playing mcginn instead of robson mite have made a slight improvement but the fact that the team cant defend corners and have not been able to for like 3 years now. I feel we are that bad just now that no one there can make that big a difference.
Look at facts we have a defence who cant defend and strikers who dont score. Also we have a squad full of midfielders and n guemo looks the only decent option in the centre. -

personally i want to see mcginn play on saturday , he is quick and can spot a run.paddy mccourt otherwise is ok but he dosent pass the ball much , the takes the ball goes past 2 guys then fooks it up , the odd time he comes up with something special but atm we need someone to do it regularly.

mcginn is just another one in a long procession of lightweight smurfs we have had who will have the odd flash of good play but will win nothing in a battle
mccourt has the skill but unfortunately is slower than a week in jail
we have too many of these types of guys
mizuno
maloney
mcgeady
crosas
mcginn
flood
mccourt
none of whom could punch their way out of a wet paper bag
win the battle first then when you have won the right to play the tippy tappy stuff then by all means start the sand dancing, we only have Robson who is up for the battle. Brown seems up for any kind of a battle and is no way a 4 million football player
McGinn and McCourt, Why didnt they play at tannadice? they're another couple who are not good enough, Lets face it, who is going to look over at our bench and think "oh no, they are going to bring on McGinn" -
Good job you didnt manage us in the 60s blackfish or we wouldnt have been European Champions and the world might have been robbed of 2 players called Jimmy Johnstone and Bobby Lennox who were also lightweight as you put it. *

Just in case you didnt know my friend McGinn played top flight gaelic football til he was 21 so he has plenty of fight and balls and if you can honestly say that Robson is a better right-sided player than him I will remain silent. Barry is a whole-hearted trier in the middle of the park but being so left-foted only a brain dead moron could select him in a right-sided position.

Robson should play in the middle and not on the right wing
I still believe that we have a squad full of similar wee guys who right now just cant cut it when there is a battle to be won, that could also be down to formation and team selection
I also firmly believe that there is not one defender in Scotland who quakes in his boots when up against the majority of our reserve "skillful" players
Aiden and Maloney are about the best we have and the end product is lacking more often than not
Paddy I think is too slow despite his skill
McGinn I think is another wee winger who isnt as good as Aiden
my point is that we need some serious power in that midfield and I dont think McGinn or McCourt are the answer. You disagree and I respect your point of view.
Mowbrays choice of team and its formation may well fall into the moronic description you mention
I dont know you well enough to be called friend and good for McGinn playing Gaelic football, its just a pity we cant adopt that robust style of tackiling in football!
still I'm sure we will still conquer all before us with our swashbuckling team of misunderstood superstars once we all get behind them and the other teams forget how average we are and how we are there for the taking at the moment -
I apologise for being a bit over the top but im just so frustrated with the managers poor tactics and formations. Surely if we have 4 wide players and one is injured we play another wide player. At the level our club is at if you play Robson there then the others are not good enough in the managers opinion so sell them to Wolves and move on.
