    not better than Maloney
crossing, passing, positioning all poor as is his work off the ball to get into spaces.

rebuild with less exciting players? we moan about how dreadful the scottish game is to watch and yet we want to sell the players that get the fans off their feet.

i'm tired of people saying that the ticky-tac barcelona style is "the way the game should be played" as i think that can be more negative than sitting back in the box, especially for teams that aren't barcelona. teams who do that in scotland and even england or italy use possession like that with the mentality that they can't score if we have the ball which is much more negative imo. players who dribble open up the game even if they do lose the ball. the more you keep possession without shooting or creating chances the more the other team will sit back in the box and that makes it less likely goals will be scored.

we have a lot of possession but we don't create chances and then we get mad when our strikers don't finish the rare one that comes their way.

what makes a game exciting? goal scoring opportunities, not "beautiful" passing, especially in our case when that consists of 'across the back line, out wide, to the middle, back to the back line, repeat.' professional players are so terrified of losing possession these days that it's killed the excitement of the game.

i say we put more players like mcgeady in, willing to dribble and take stick when the lose it, and simply cover them with a good destroyer midfielder if/when they do. but you people who slag mcgeady for being a showpony would rather have more average players who don't even want the ball and would rather be rid of it as quickly as possible.

I really feel for McGeady just now. The team's one attacking tactic seems to be give it to Aiden and hope that he does something with it. Must be physically and mentally draining for a player. Really needs some help.

We're badly needing a left sided attacking midfielder to lift some of the burden, or someone creative to play just behind the strikers.
