Don't like this getting turned into a WGS vs Aiden debate. Strachan should he is the boss and made a desicion, we should support him for that. Aiden should be supported so he gets back to playing football for us as soon as possible and this gets put behind him.

Nobody is bigger than the club.

Look what happened at Mordor, PLG did not like Ferguson and he got the sack. Yes he was * but a lot of fans wanted him to be given a season strangely or not.

M8 that's what it's been for pretty much the entire thread. I first posted that quote almost 24 hours ago and still no one has acknowledged it.

Could it be that the words ring true and the majority's stance of McGeady being totally at fault and a petulant wee * is being put under scrutiny? Tune in next week and the question probably still won't be answered!!

surely the the bigger the fee the more the agents cut is. personally i think that we should loan mcgeady out for 6 months to a middle-bottom of the league EPL side to give him a taste of life at a crappy wee team and also to see if strachan will be here any longer than this season

WGS on sky sports interview yesterday word for word""there have been far,far,far,far--and i can keep going with these fars for a long time--worse weeks than this.trust me far more.

either its not as bad as first seems or hes trying to defuse the situation.

also says maloney is struggling and will miss the falkirk match, doesnt say of he wont be ready for the huns game though.

[IMG]Ok, let’s revise How Journalism Works. <?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O />

When a journalist writes “An onlooker said….”, we know the journalist concerned has made the quote up themselves.

When they write “A pal said…”, that means the source is a publicist.

“A close pal”, usually means a manager or agent.

“A source close to XXXX” means XXXX themselves or an immediate family member is the journalist’s source.

Our esteemed winger at the centre of the past weeks drama is XXXX.

Journalists’ stories are provided by sources. The media has a way of protecting the anonymity of sources of a sensitive leak, while at the same time indicating that the sources are credible. Except for the Rumour Mill, which doesn’t even bother with such matters and regularly proves to be an incredible source of misinformation?

It seems an awful lot of people need reminded that the primary issue of the day isn't handbags in dressing rooms but that a ‘Celtic player’ leaked damaging material to a newspaper.

No media outlet is addressing the fact that the source of the original story in the Herald on Monday was the player himself. I've heard several people speculate that it's all been leaked by the club, is all part of a plot by Peter Lawwell, Dermot Desmond, Peter Mandelson and Karen Matthews, and so on and so forth. I’ve read several voices say that they haven’t heard McGeady’s side of the story….

The Herald is virtually transparent, citing the source as "close to Aiden McGeady". It's also plain to readers in the relatively sympathetic treatment afforded to McGeady in the Herald and tellingly, extended to his Dad, too.

The breach of discipline isn't what was said on Saturday afternoon but was running to the Herald journalist who published the story immediately after the match.

Of course, The Herald can’t say this as they must protect the identity of their source. Celtic can’t publicly say this as nowhere does it actually state “McGeady told us…”. Other media outlets won’t say it for a number of reasons. Chief amongst them are that they won’t draw attention to the fact that a rival got the exclusive and that it suits them to turn the story into a Strachan v McGeady issue, with all the divisiveness that results.

Maybe McGeady chose The Herald above others as it gave him a bit more cache (or the fact his family knows the journalist fairly well). Maybe we’re supposed to be grateful he didn’t give it to the Daily Ranger and the fun they would have had.

In a fit of pique, he’s engineering a move at precisely the time, economic climate and in circumstances in which Celtic will get relatively little for him.

Strachan can do nothing else. Banning McGeady for one game might be possible without the Huns coming up but it’s simply not possible when they are. If Strachan bans him for the <?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = ST1 />Falkirk game only, it looks weak and would be highlighted as such.

The primary issue has nothing to do with Strachan as a man manager. It has nothing to do with formations or style of play. It has nothing to do with McGeady’s talent. And it would be the same whether the central character was McGeady, McCourt, Doumbe or Boruc.

The primary issue is not what happened in the dressing room but what happened later. It has everything to do with McGeady acting on personal interest and damaging the club he claims to love.

It’s clear the players recognize this, virtually lining up off the record, to back the club’s version of events. Let’s hope this breach of trust in the dressing room will have a galvanizing and unifying effect for the rest of the team.

I know there a plenty of us who know all this but it's frustrating that there are many others fired up by the rest of the media, who evidently don't. Too many of us are all too eager to get caught up in the media’s soap opera of personality clashes, making Gordon Strachan the central character, particularly those who just see it as another stick to beat him with.

Open your eyes, take the anti-Gordon Strachan blinkers off for once as it’s quite clear that by some distance the culprit in the past week’s soap opera was Aiden McGeady and no one else.

In ending Aiden, you’ve let the support down, you’ve let your teammates down, you’ve let the club you profess to love down and most of all you’ve let yourself down.

Hopefully the events of the past week will be the catalyst that finally turns you from being a boy into becoming a man………

He should be a man. Accept it and move on. Just a spoiled brat imo, with a * stirring agent.
If he truly weants to play for Cetic he will shut up! If not, let him go....no player is bigger than the Club

Load of pish,,players have been told not to adress the press on this subject because as far as they are concerned the matters closed..

Yet this states players have been lining up to talk to the press:56::56:,,if any player was talking to the press they would be getting similar treatment to mcgeady.
