Mate, McGeady is *. He's got one trick. He can't shOOt. He can't cross. All any team has to do is put two men on him and he's out of the game.

If Big Eck still wants him then please come and get him.

Oh and this isn't a knee * reaction. I've felt like this about McGeady for a while. He's had the longest honeymOOn period ever.

 

I wouldn't use the term overrated. no one says he is world class. he has all the abilities in this world but no end product. that way he wastes a lot of his talent. although saying he was * is bollox. still one of our best players.

He's predictable, no longer fast, Cant score, Above the rest of the team (afterall he did play in the EPL),

If Celtic sold Maloney I'd happily drive him to wherever the * he wants to go!

 

Looking forward to Maloney's return as it will give us more options, more compition for McGeady.

Only reason people are annoyed with him is because they expected so much more. The early game when he was in a good team, surrounded by good players and not the main outlet he looked pretty good. Just look at the AC Milan game a few years back.

Judging from the reactions he is not over-rated at all. Saying he is * is borderline moronic.

Surrounded by better players he would be a lot better. When we have Maloney back, Paddy able to play and McGinn on form there will be a few more players for the defence to look after.

 

Being surrounded by better players aren't going to make his crosses beat the first man or stop him from dragging his shots or blazing them.

 

I think he is very very over rated by Celtic fans but let's face it, he's not really rated down in England otherwise he wouldn't be here! I would have taken 7 million from Eck for him, as others have said hes a winger that cant cross or shoot when he cuts in! The minute you put 2 players on him thats him out of the game, its becoming very easy for half decent opposition to keep him out of the game because he doesn't have the intelligence when he doesn't have the ball! Having said all that, he seems to be Mowbray's wee pet so he is always going to get a game!

 

He's over rated by some Celtic fans and under rated by others.

Despite the deficiancies to his game he's still our most creative outlet.

 

Yes maybe so far this season because of injuries and the fact that Mowbray played Robson on the other side for a while but in my opinion, Maloney is a far more intelligent, creative and more of a goal threat than McGeady who in my opinion is just a dribbler with an occasional decent cross.

 

Therefore no Celtic player is rated down in England? Because they are still here after all and not in England. Everybody knows some players are rated down south, so that argument is not valid.

Still 7 million is a high price for a very very overrated Celtic player. You don't get that high price tag for nothing, especially big *, although an ex-hun, must rate him.

Can't think of an SPL player that wouldn't struggle with 2 opponent players. on the other hand it means more space for other Celts since the opposition is kinda one man short.

In Maloney's POTY season I would have agreed with you, but I don't think he's did anything on his return.

 

1) McGeady is the most talked about player that is playing in the SPL and the big teams down there have had a look at him and clearly dont fancy him!

2) Big Eck watched him week in week out up here and so he must rate him but Birmingham arent one of the big guns! 7 million is a price he will have thought that Celtic could be tempted with!

3) The problem is that when McGeady has 2 players on him he wants to beat them and more often than not (particuarly last night) loses the ball because he thinks he is better than he really is! You said it means more space for other Celtic players but the problem being that McGeady never finds the spare players!

 

you have a completely wrong impression of McGeady then. no one says he is world class, truly no one. no one says he is good enough for Chelsea or Man United. Only because those teams don't want him doesn't mean he ain't rated down there. Midtable teams always come up and ask for his pricetag. there are still several scouts watching him from Birmingham, Aston Villa to Bayern Munich.

Same again. How many SPL players leave the league for 6-7 million? according to a lot in this thread he is *. how come other players won't get that price tag, or is our squad totally *? of course not.

if he could fix that his price tag would be 15-20 mio. He has no end product. Kinda C Ronaldo when he first came to Man Utd. may be TM can help him develop into a better player.

 

If he hasn't sorted out his shooting, passing or crossing in 5 years, what makes you think he will under TM? His goals this season are the exception to the rule. His shot 95% of the time is absolutely dire. You might think we are dwelling on one thing to much but clearly McGeady doesn't dwell on it in training. Maybe he just doesn't have any power in his shot. So what would he excuse be for overdoing things when it would be more beneficial to do the simple thing. Now im not going to say he's *, he has ability but only dribble ability. McGeady has had over 5 years to improve the other aspects of his game and hasn't.
