    Not entirely true, the likes of Michael Owen and co adapted there game very well when the pace went.

    You have just given the best possible example of a player becoming half the player they were before losing their pace :56:

    The Owen without * legs was twice the player he was at Newcastle and United.

    He has some goals to game ratio there. Ryan Giggs, Dwight Yorke, Andy Cole etc all adapted really well when the pace went, Raul, Alan Shearer, Henrik Larsson...

    None of the players you mentioned relied on pace as their main weapon, Owen did.

    Aye but none of them were half they were when the pace went. If you are a clever player you can adapt.

    Although I would say Ryan Giggs ridiculously relied on his pace when he was younger. I was gobsmacked when he learned how to adapt his game to the point he could play CM.
