He’s class but he definitely could and should be bringing more to the table.

Want to see him dominating matches in there.

He's still not really imposing himself enough on games. I'm a massive fan but he just feels kind of 'there' at the moment. I thought today was one of his worst games for us, touch was way off.

Coming off the bench last year made him look a million bucks. I think it will take him a bit of time to adapt to a permanent starting role, but he will come good.

Think him and Turnbull also don't get the best out of each other, too similar in style and pace. Hatate back in the starting xi will hopefully spark him back into life.

This. O’Riley can’t play in a midfield with another slowish player who doesn’t do the dirty work. We got exposed by Bodo when Rogic was his midfield partner and we saw it yesterday with Turnbull.

He’s another luxury player to me, can carve up the best of Scottish if he’s protected with workhorses, but will be exposed if he’s paired with another luxury player.

tbf to him I think Matt can get stuck in and gives us something defensively, he put Halliday on his * a couple of times yesterday. It's more a matter of his pace and style being too simmilar to Turnbull. He just isn't quick enough to do the work of 2 men defensively which he has to when DT is on with him.

Reo and Matt are a nice contrast in skill and pace in the centre and it ballances things out better and makes us more dynamic. Reo, Cal and Matt need to be our starting 3 mids going forward (injuries allowing) Can bring on Mooy and Turnbull and the new boy later in games to freshen things up if needed.

I think Reo and Matt are a nice contrast because Reo will cover for Matt’s lack of pace/engine and do the ‘extra’ dirty work(in other words, he covers for Matt). It’s not that Matt doesn’t do defensive work, it’s just that he can’t cover off enough of it, and it shows when he is paired with players such as Turnbull and Rogic who can’t pick up that ‘extra’ dirty work.

Hatate is a special player and the midfield is always going to contain a fit Hatate and McGregor, it’s just who pairs with them that will be the question going forwards. I really like Mooy as someone who can control the ball, he’ll definitely play a big part for us this year whether that’s off the bench or starting.

I'd try to transform him into a deep lying playmaker. His lack of pace is an issue at his current position. It wouldn't have been that big of an issue if he were playing in between two industrious box-to-box players. Here's what I have in mind.

    ....................Hart.........................
    Josip......CCV..........(???).........Taylor
    ...................O'Riley.......................
    .......Hatate..............McGregor.........
    Maeda.....................................Jota
    ....................Kyogo.......................

Not for me, he is too good a creative force to be sat that deep. As long as McGregor is doing such a good job there I don't see why Ange would even consider shuffling things to put O'Riley there.

What a player he is and will be but slowish start to season. Doing some really good stuff still though but think he needs a goal then will flourish.

Most of the team was off it yesterday. O’Riley was one of them. No doubt he will come good.

See there is a lot of noise again this morning about Matt ORiley and some big names and those with deep pockets mentioned.

I do worry what our board would do if we got a proper offer for him.

Wouldn’t be worrying too much here

He’s in a great place to continue his development

Celtic midfielder Matt O'Riley is attracting plenty of attention from some of Europe's biggest clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United, according to ESPN sources.

O'Riley moved to Celtic from MK Dons in January for £1.5m and his form and statistics have caught the eye of teams all around Europe, with sources saying there could yet be a late move for him in this transfer window. Celtic have no interest in losing the 21-year-old, sources said, but a bid in the region of £15m-£20m could be tempting in this window, though it is expected his value will increase this year if he continues his impressive run.

If a bid is forthcoming in this transfer window then sources told ESPN that Newcastle Unitedand Leicester City are the most likely who'll be trying to tempt the English-born Denmark U21 midfielder to the Premier League. Scouts from Wolfsburg and Lille have also watched O'Riley play and have come away impressed
