Thought the most interesting part was him seemingly heavily favouring playing for Denmark. Might have been common knowledge already but it was the first time I'd heard it. They've some quality midfielders but with the performances he's having and him being eligible for a few nations I could see them wanting to cap him sooner rather than later.

    What a class big guy..

Aye sound's like he'll definitely be playing for Denmark. I fancy him to go to the World Cup with them as well..

Could replace Eriksen for them, number 10 taking all the set pieces. Looking at their squad they dont really have more creative or attacking midfielders, all sitting players and wide players.

Can Eriksen not still play for them?

He’s been a cracking signing so far it’s crazy to think of our midfield options currently how little it cost to assemble them. Obviously some were signed some time ago but still.

McGregor - academy player developed here
    Hatate - £1.4m
    O’Riley - £1.5m
    Rogic- £0.4m
Ideguchi - £0.7m (if he turns out a player that is ridiculous business)
    Bitton - £0.7m
    Turnbull - £3.25m

That’s 7 midfield options for £7.95m. Also crazy to think Soro would be the second most expensive if you added him to the list.

We have done very well in signing midfielders over the years you could add Ledley (£0m), Wanyama (£1m); Kayal (£1m); Johansen (£2m); Ki (£2m). The only other expensive flop that comes to mind is Kouassi and we got some money back for him.

DENMARK'S talent development manager has confirmed Matt O'Riley is very much on their radar for a shock World Cup call-up.

The former MK Dons star has impressed since his surprise move to Celtic last month with a string of outstanding displays for the Hoops.

He's already represented England Under 18s previously, but made clear this week he would be interested in playing for Denmark, where he qualifies because of his Danish mother.

O'Riley explained: "I played for England youth teams, but at the same time I do feel quite Danish.

"My mum’s Danish, I can speak a decent amount, I can understand a very good amount so in that sense I don’t think it’s something that’s out of the question at all.

"And if I did get a call-up from Denmark then I don’t think I’d be saying no."

And the Danish FA's talent development manager, Flemming Berg, has revealed that the Celtic star, 21, has already trained with their youth teams.

He said: "We have had contact with Matt. He informed us, along with his agent and his family, that he would be interested in playing for Denmark.

He is part of our talent pool now. If we thought he had no interest from him, he wouldn't be on the list.

Matt has also been to training sessions with the youth national teams on several occasions."

Would love him to get called up while here. Would make the move all the better, making him realise he doesn’t need to play in the PL to get called up. If he performs like this for the rest of the season and next and doesn’t get called up he will probably want to leave.

Not sure I'd call.him a flop but Ntcham was expensive and we saw no return.

That is true he was an odd case overall, initially went well and we could have had a high value sale but then turned in to an expensive mistake not selling an unhappy player when we could have.

Honestly deserves it and I'm basing that on the 4/5 games he has played for us :56:

I know it is only a small sample size but I agree from what we have seen so far its hard to imagine he is not at least worth a place in their squad.

He was excellent both games against Astana to secure £40m and CL football and also gave me the best moment I've had in a stadium supporting celtic, in Rome.

I can forgive the £4.5m or whatever it was we paid!

Would be incredible for us if he chooses Denmark. He'll get called up while here and won't go to England in search of an international call up

Sounds a stick-on for Denmark tbh. He's a clever lad, he'll understand that choosing an up and coming nation where he can be a star is far better than 20 off the bench caps for Engurlund.

How would a Denmark call up affect his homegrown status for an EPL team?
