I never once held any hope he would stay. Too long a Celtic fan to not know when the writings on the wall. Hopefully we get 30m EPL bucks for him.

If he goes we need his replacement in either before or within a day or 2. Not even kidding anything else is criminal.

at what point do we actually try and improve the first team ,we sold jota for £25 m last year and were worse off because of it ,saying oh well ,thats the model aint * good enough .change the model there is a reason we get humped in europe every year and selling our best players continually has us in a one step foward two back position

True but are they coming in with low ball offers like £20m similar to Atalanta to try unsettle him late in the window or has there been a few mentioned?

But a lot of players from Brighton get big moves and are internationals. I'm also not sure European football is all that attractive. I'm sure it can help, but he will be playing in the highest profile league in Europe which he may view as bigger.

Brighton is a much more attractive offer than Atalanta.

I doubt very much that Brighton will come in with an offer lower than Atalanta's bid of £21.5M

I think the Board will be very keen to get this done and dusted as soon as possible, they won't want an unsettled player on their hands, especially when Brendan wants another four of five players in just 11 days.

Well he's been pursued relentlessly this window and we know there was a bid from Jan. The board will have a list of excellent replacements ready to act on...

The word is we moved the goalposts on Atalanta, if that’s the case it’s only been done because we’re aware others will pay more.

Wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if he goes to Brighton for 30 million now and we’re haggling on add ons. And it would be a feather in MOR’s cap because Brightons scouting is absolutely exceptional.

Brighton would be a great move I think, he'd start for them. Last season they never really had a midfield and him and Wieffer could be a good partnership. They have allsorts of young talent, play attacking football and are well safe from relegation just cause they have too much quality.

They are probably also highly scouted, possibly even the most watched team in Europe just since they have that many young players in their team so he could get a move from there quick.

Plus playing in England will make it more likely for a bigger English team to want him, Liverpool only really have MacAllister and Man Utd don't really have any midfielders, they'll be signing midfielders in the next year or two.

Even Man City also will need a rebuild in a year or two probably without Pep, De Bruyne is 33?, Bernardo 30, Kovacic 30. They are due a new midfield soon maybe even next summer.

Arsenal as well haven't replaced Xhaka which O'Riley would do, they only have Rice and Odegaard then Jorginho and Partey fill in who are old now and Havertz is a forward for them now having been * in midfield, Fabio Vieira not really cut it. They'll be looking for a midfielder like him next summer.

Possibly. With the likes of Inter and Atletico however, he wouldn’t need to make another big move. Any step up after that is to a Real Madrid.

If we moved the goalposts, we were valuing him too low in the first place. If the highest offer is correct of just over £21m, what were we meant to have valued him at prior to the goalposts being moved? Surely we have always been looking for at least £25m.

Hopefully Man City are playing in the National League by the time they need the rebuild. Bookies are obviously wary as they are only 8/1 and 10/1 with some to get relegated this season.
