10m addon fees on his value just because he is so gorgeous. Even Leigh Griffiths would look hot next to him

You mean like we had no problem paying £10m for a decent winger when we got £25m for Jota?

Sounds like they may have an Italian Lawwell running them. Pablo Lawwello

There just doesn't seem to a lot of interest in him at the moment other than Atalanta & some Premier League cellar dwellers. I'm wondering if clubs are hoping on a price reduction towards the end of the window or if there is a genuine lack of interest

If Atalanta are out the running, I'm confident he's staying for another season.

    Fingers crossed

Seeing people saying we've upped our price to 30 million now. Someone at the club obviously sick of atalanta

For O'Riley the situation has been stuck two days ago
, when a new proposal was forwarded that was very close to Celtic's initial requests: 25 million plus 2 in bonuses, while at the beginning the Biancoverdi were asking for 27 plus 2. The gap was very wide but has narrowed over the weeks. However, there is still no answer and there is at least one current that explains how Celtic is now asking for 30 million pounds, approximately 35 million euros. In that case there would still be a good distance between the parties, although O'Riley has already given Atalanta full availability to play in Serie A, snubbing - at least for now - the sirens from the Premier League such as those of Brighton.

See they look to have signed a Brazilian right-back for 16million€ upfront with 4 million€ in add ons and whatnots that they may or may not pay. Seems to be their modus operandi, to look for sneaky ways around transfer fees.

Surely someone doing the negotiations on our end has come to the realisation that Atalanta aren't going to do transfers in any other way than to look for lots of random clauses. Maybe the price going up is the polite way of saying on your bike.

Sorry. But that's nonsense. Would you say the same about Kyogo? MacGregor, CCV? He is not daft. He knows he will get to play in the Champions League and to suggest teams such as Brighton are a step up is ridiculous. In money terms maybe, but not in football. These issues you say are ridiculous. Our league may be small but we are not. You just need to listen to Joe Harts comments on us. The club is the issue here. Not the player. We don't need the money for him. He is more valuable on the pitch than any fee in the bank. He is nowhere near his peak and another couple of years will have genuine elite club suitors interested.

No offense mate, but as fans we should be screaming at the club to keep our best players instead of submissively accepting it as a "policy".

O'Riley has been a real pro as well and had not indicated a desire to go elsewhere. His sale will be on the club. And we know the money will be stashed away for... Something.

How can you compare a 23 year old to kyogo who will be 30 turn of the year? So no. I wouldn't say the same.

MOR will not stay here for another 3 years. Similar to VVD he has outgrown the league it's evident he's several levels above most others. Where in my post did I mention Brighton?

What do you mean as fans we should be screaming at the club? What world are you living in. Ofcourse I want us to keep our best players. Unfortunately I don't have a direct line to Rodgers or Desmond, do you? Like many fans I've accepted what we are as a club now. A selling club. It's our model.

"Our league may be small but we are not". Stop being so naive. Why did VVD, Wanyama, Forster, Jota, Starfelt, Abada, Armstrong, Christie etc etc All leave then? Why does every decent youth prospect we produce want to leave? Genuinely why do you think that?

You've called my post nonsense and then proceeded to reply with 3 paragraphs of naivety. I think the club are an issue too with hoarding money, but in this situation we couldn't keep a player here for 3 years who's already at the level he is. He's fine now, aye and not pushing for a move, but I can guarantee that won't be the same in 6-12 months time.

You need to get a grip on reality with where we are as a club now. Teams like Brighton to mention the one you have, would be viewed as a step up for many players purely due to the level they are playing at.

Admission of ‘torment’ as Celtic flex transfer muscles – Radio silence causing frustration

A couple of days we brought some Italian reports on Matt O’Riley together to show that Celtic have Atalanta on strings over the midfielder’s future, and are also holding up Teun Koopmeiners’ move to Juventus as a result.

Despite being in the Scottish Premiership, Celtic may right now be the most important club in the Serie A transfer window, with them and O’Riley being the first domino to nudge over and watch a row of other business being done.

Saturday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport has an article on Atalanta’s transfer business, with a section literally headlined ‘The Celtic Torment’.

They explain Celtic haven’t even responded to La Dea’s latest €27m offer. They haven’t rejected it, they haven’t made a counteroffer, they just haven’t responded in any way at all.
Claims from the UK of Celtic now potentially wanting €30m plus €5m in bonuses are covered, and it’s stated that’s twice what Atalanta initially thought they’d have to pay.

At this stage, the Italian club would probably like to walk away with their tail between their legs, but much respected manager Gian Piero Gasperini really wants O’Riley so they continue to battle with Brendan Rodgers’ side

Have to hand it to the guy, if he wants away it certainly doesn’t show. Looks happy regardless.
