We will have a figure in mind and he will have a career path in mind.

Personally I would be offering him a new contract at 60k a week and a 35 mill release clause.

A £23m offer can't be far off what we're actually looking for. Only a matter of time now unfortunately.

The things is we know how value will go up by January after 8 UCL games , he will.show up well in a fair few of them, as he did last season. Would make sense to wait from a footballing and financial viewpoint . Unlikely I know. I can see this happening (atalanta) this week .

 

Atalanta would be a great move for him in many ways. Their style of play, champions league and moving to Italy . For Matt's sake I hope they up their bid, * going to Brighton

Yeah, agree with the post above. Likely to be his last game for us as the bids get closer to the valuation we want. Not saying this because I hate the EPL or whatever but if it's a straight choice between Atalanta and Brighton, I'm jumping on a plane and going to Italy. Regardless of the wages on offer. Rumours were kicking about that his new deal was about £25k a week so I think, at this stage of his career, getting good money and living an amazing lifestyle in Italy is where he should go.

He will crack Italy with * ease, as well. He's such a cultured guy, too. Incredible professional, incredible athlete and a player I will just miss having around the place, not just because of the quality he has on the pitch. Special guy who, in my opinion, could go onto serious levels in the game. Can't see him being at Atalanta long.

Shocking that no one has also commented on how ugly our team becomes with him leaving. That's Jota, Stafelt and O'Riley away in the space of a year. All we have is Maeda with hair to keep us going, at the minute. Club need to get their priorities straight and sign some handsome players.
