  2. The season's not even finished yet and as far as I know, the window isn't even open yet and I already hate seeing this thread getting bumped. Seems inevitable that he's offski. :54:

Let's take a leaf out of Benfica's book and insist on a huge sell-on percentage.

It’s our book now, Frimpong is just about to earn us a fortune.

  4. No it wouldn't... * man? There's no way we should be shifting the core players of our team below their value unless their contracts are a factor... We endured season upon season of underpriced sales to get to charging the right value for our players... Absolute floor I'd consider would be £25M+... And that would be with a shitlosd of add-ons and big sell-on fee...

I totally agree if he wants to leave this summer no way we should sell him for anything less then a new club record selling fee.

I just tend to lean more on the conservative side when we speak about huge sums for players. We’ve only sold two players for more than £20m.

We have been shafted for players by English teams for years now and we need to stop valuing our players so low - same goes with every other team in Scotland. It's * criminal.

If teams from other leagues can get 100 odd mil from England for a player then for MOR we should be asking for 40 million at the least. Bare minimum

  7. Exactly this. If MOR was playing for Ajax or Udinese they'd be talking £35mil minimum

  8. If we're selling him, it has to be now. Unless he came out and explicitly stated that he wants to be a Celtic player for the long-term plus signed a new contract (which isn't going to happen) then he's a depreciating asset and his value is at its highest this summer.

Big decision for MoR. If he goes it will be for decent money, but it's unlikely to be at an elite European club at this stage of his career. He could stay another season, play in the new CL format and look to possibly move then. Either way it's we will get a big fee.

I've long ago stopped getting stressed about players moving on. There are very few players like Forrest, MacGregor or Brown who will stay for their whole career here now.

I don't buy the money argument. Players like MoR will be very well looked after if they stay. I'm also not naive to think that any fee will be invested in top level.

Hope he stays. If not, fine, the club will go on.

  11. Yeah now that we're sitting on the big fees it means nothing if it's not reinvested and as we will have £120m in the bank (if tarts don't qualify) none of the big fees means eff all at the moment

  12. Never know about that - imagine he stayed until January and got 50 goals/assists in half a season.. or am I dreaming again

Pretty much my approach also, enjoy these players while they are here because the 2-4 year turnaround is now much more common for us on players. It's a shame as some of the guys in the past 10 yr's or so who have only been here for a couple of seasons could have formed a real formidable team but can't grudge them a move to better league, better money, higher profile position.

  14. I have a feeling a deal is already done with an EPL team and it will be announced not long after the cup final before the Euros start.

No inside information or nothing just reading a lot of the comments from O’Riley.

  15. Cant see him staying and he deserves his big payday.

Just hoping we use the money get for him wisely.

  16. Be silly to already have something in place if he goes to euros and plays ....and plays well then we up his value

  18. Thinking the same. Is there any concrete evidence that he will not be with us next season? I've got the vibe from his interviews too but thats hardly proof that we should all expect it.

  19. Who knows we could be begging him behind the scenes to stay for atleast another season
