He carried the team first half of the season. Now it feels like the team is carrying him. To be fair, he looks burst. Totally lacking energy after being run in to the ground.

Actually looking forward to moving him on and rebuilding our midfield. Obviously he's an excellent player but feels like the natural end of his time here. We need to try something different middle of the park and I'd like it to be more focused on power and pace, don't think Matt has the attributes for it, as good as he is in his own style.

Feels like a natural end. Would love that he moves to a club like Atletico and tears it up.

Drifts in and out of games quite a bit - maybe more so recently. Was very poor yesterday overall.

He’s not good enough for Atletico imo. I’ve never fully been on board with him as a top player. He’s good but there’s important attributes missing and I think Hatate is a much better player.

However he was the only player during that sticky spell today that calmed it down i felt, a couple of nice touches and reverse passes when everyone else was stressed

No idea why Rodgers is running him into the ground when we have there. Just needless and it’s massively harming his game.

This, he’s been fatigued for months now, clear as day yet BR hasn’t rotated. Yesterday we essentially started a half fit midfield 3, which is just stupid.

Wouldn't be against having bernardo iwata/calmac and hatate for a game.
Push hatate up the park more

Going to be almost impossible to replace his class within the budgets we work under, don’t understand the thinking behind hoping he goes never mind actually does.

Would love another season out of him but know that is pretty much pie in the sky, he’ll have plenty suitors in the summer.

He's absolutely off in the summer. My only hope is that maybe we use it to sign a bit more power in there. The three that started on Sunday are brilliant but not sure the balance is right.

Aw Matt really missed a trick there, imagine the scenes if he'd turned up with a Daizen Maida mask on...

Inter Milan are lining up a summer move for Celtic star Matt O'Riley after the midfielder's impressive season.

O'Riley has been a standout since making the move to Celtic Park from MK Dons and Atletico Madrid made an attempt to sign him in the January window.

It's expected that the Hoops will face a challenge to hold onto him this summer with more teams set to make their interest known and reports in Italy suggest Serie A champions Inter Milan could be one of those.

Simone Inzaghi's side sealed the Serie A title earlier this month by defeating rivals AC Milan at the San Siro and their attention has already turned to strengthening their squad in the summer.

Corriere dello Sport say are keeping him under observation and are considering a move in the summer. It suggests the Scottish Premiership is becoming a hunting ground for Italian teams once again with successful deals in recent seasons.

Lewis Ferguson is the standout of those after helping Bologna to a European spot this season while Aaron Hickey was also a success at the same club before a move to Brentford. Josh Doig is currently at Sassuolo while Ylber Ramadani has impressed for Lecce since moving there from Aberdeen.

O'Riley is likely to command a hefty transfer fee and that could even end up being a Scottish record with the clubs involved in wanting to sign him.

Celtic are believed to have asked Atletico Madrid for £25million to sell him in the summer, such is his importance to Brendan Rodgers side.

Earlier this week, O'Riley was nominated for the Scottish Premiership player of the year award after scoring 13 goals and 11 assists in his 32 games so far.

Oh, good. Season-defining games coming up and, right on cue, there's the MSM with a story linking one of our best players with a move.
