We're in a title race already, mate. What selling MOR would do is make them favourites.

The way I feel about the club's recruitment at the minute, I half expect the contingency plan to be another mass.

Would be a typical window for us to not strengthen properly and sell our best player..

MOR will be going nowhere until the summer where he will have his pick of the teams. He came here to develop and he knocked back teams on that basis.

We can't be selling our best players halfway through a season. Just no!

I can't see Girona paying for him, they have only spent about £20m the whole season, bringing in about 6 or 7 for that.

Oh no... close title race let's upset our best player. Usual from the media. "Celtic bracing for a bid from x" Aye sure. They can * off.

Don't think this is the media inventing anything, we've known since he signed that big clubs were already tracking O'Riley and expecting bids to start coming in by summer at the latest, but with the form he's been in this season and adding assists at CL level there probably are teams ready to pull the trigger earlier.

We cannot sell our player of the season so far in this window, we all know that he will move on as this guy is a special talent, hopefully we keep him until at least the summer.

When I hear Girona is after him I can't help but think that Man City is somewhere in the background pulling the strings. If Girona makes a bid, we should treat the bid as if it's coming directly from Man City.

City group, while the largest shareholder, are not majority shareholders. They won't spend 20m on a player.

If he goes this window then the club can never again use the excuse of it being hard to get players signed in January as teams don't want to sell

There is no doubt. Girona is desperately searching for a midfielder and, after attempts by Sergi Darder and Carles Aleñá, they are now looking at Matt O'Riley , a Glasgow Celtic player, according to 'Sky Sports'.

The Danish midfielder is a real option. The proof of this is that the Catalan team, together with the City Group, have immersed themselves fully in the negotiations to acquire the player's services. It will not be an easy operation, since the Irish club rejected an offer for O'Riley of 10 million during the last summer market. However, Mundo Deportivo has learned that the green and white team is considering the proposal by the international with the Denmark National Team.

With a contract until 2027, Matt O'Riley is one of Celtic's stars at 23 years old and his numbers in the League are worthy of study. In 21 games he has scored 7 goals and 10 assists and, if that were not enough, he has added three more assists in the group stage of the Champions League.

For now it is an option for Míchel, but there is optimism in the operation. If his arrival occurs, the Vallecano coach would receive what he asked for: players to improve the squad.

    If he goes I'm done.

Would be utter madness to sell in this window.

Given the money on offer in next year's CL and the fact that we are in a real title race, it would certainly be monumentally short-sighted unless they are offering silly money (which smaller Spanish clubs typically don't I think).

Unless they were willing to loan him back to us till the end of the season or O'Riley himself started complaining, which don't seem all that likely??? :39:

£1.5m was some business at the time. You knew he was going to be good and go straight into the team too. That was some January window, a few days prior to O’Riley joining, Maeda and Hatate had excellent debuts.
