Definitely mate, if they were to sign him on a 5 year contract and he was to see it out he’d still only be * 28 at that stage! Unbelievable talent and has such a high ceiling and will be at top level for years and years to come

I read that as him not wanting to jump ship for a Bournemouth or a Crystal Palace (I wanted to say "a Southampton" for a moment there) any time soon and being happy to wait a while for his EPL move but, at the same time, not making any promises in case a big team like Spurs or Newcastle comes in (in which case, he'd be daft to knock them back).

I hope it's not just wishful thinking on my part.

Desperate teams pay up in the January window in the hopes it saves their season. £40m bid from anyone and I can see us pushing him to move…. £25-30m and we’d maybe wait til summer at that price

The teams that are desperate in January to avoid relegation are ones he should be avoiding. He will get a good club in the summer, I'm certain of that.

Improving under Rodgers...whisper it quietly for some!

He's been unreal this season after what I thought was a really average year last season. Consistency has been insane.

Such an intelligent footballer as well who has his head switched on.

He admitted himself he wasn't at it mentally a fair bit last season and going by his answers in media....he isn't getting in his head and loving his football again.
This plus Rodgers developing him and allowing his game to flow he as turned into a phenomenal talent. Was always something there and this season he's showing it.

I thought it was very harsh on him last season from a lot of people, think he set up the most goals still even when he was in and out. But he stepped up to cover McGregor’s role when he was out, done it very well. When he moved back up he struggled a bit with switching back, and then the fact he hadn’t scored really played on his mind and became a big focus. For him, commentators and pundits and us as fans.

He had a small wobble of confidence Mooy and Hatate absolutely dominated and in that time, and every young footballer regardless of talent has they wee wobbles, but he was still creating, still very impressive defensively and if you look at games against them - he set up a good few again. Something that he does more than any player I can remember btw, I’d be interested to see most assists against them cos I think he may be top of that.

2 this year anyway. He’s then took stock of his season in the summer, and with BR’s help, he’s majorly made sure the biggest issue he had last year is fixed - goalscoring.

Guys a special player man. Even with his dip last season, I wouldn’t say average then either, his dip was still showing a level of quality. He has an elite mentality. And the only weakness that can be aimed at him is he isn’t really quick. Not slow either though

He caught a climpse of himself in the mirror and realised he was a total *, everything else has just fallen into place off of that high.

    No chance this is true.

    Brentford aren't looking at midfielders.
