Brilliant when he came on. Sparked our midfield into life. Peach of a goal too...

Sure I seen him say “Finally!”, with what looked like relief.

Celtic midfielder Matt O'Riley has criticised the VAR delays in Scottish football, calling them "frustrating".

The Denmark under-21 international feels that the stoppages give teams a "breather" against the Hoops and stall the momentum of play.

O'Riley scored his first goal of the season in the recent 5-1 victory over St Mirren in the Scottish Cup and he went on to maintain that the Scottish champions will get on with the job at hand despite their frustrations with the technology.

Speaking at a fan event in Belfast, he said: "It is frustrating. It takes a really long time. I don’t know what the average time is but it must be over two or three minutes each time.

"For us it’s not ideal, especially the way we play and the momentum we have when we’re constantly attacking teams, it gives them a breather as well.

"The way we’re playing, we’re trying to tire teams out, so it’s a bit frustrating in that sense but at the same time everyone has to deal with it.”

And the 22-year-old also praised the Buddies. for not setting up defensively in the recent fixture.

He continued: "They made it difficult for us to be fair. They really gave it a good go. Most teams just sit in the box and sit there for 90 minutes but they gave it a go and I respect that.

"Luckily we broke them down as the game went on.”

That turn was outstanding-then * it with tame "backpass" to their keeper.

    * got me in trouble with the cheese and kisses!

I watch the matches and celebrate with silent fist pumps so as not to wake the missus at 3am when Kyogo scores to 2 up. But half an hour later I’m screaming at the TV “* hit it you *!!!!!” :56:

Missus totally startled, “what’s going on? What’s going on?”

Ummm it’s just the football, sorry about that :52:

Her, well I’ve got to go to work in a couple of hours :boxing::boxing::boxing:

Really bad miss that was at the end, arguably worse than Haksa’s because the time he had on the baw.

He has such a weird shooting technique it’s almost as if he gets too far ahead of the ball and is kinda chipping it out from underneath him, that being said he generally does have decent results with it so it does work from time to time.

Couldn't believe how bad that shot was. Calling it a pass back is being generous.

Had to go to page 3 to find his thread. Anyway pleased to see him get another goal, will help his confidence. He is easily capable of winning his starting spot back from Mooy.

I didn't say he would be right now. I said Matt O'Riley is more than capable of winning his spot back from him. Which he is. Just as he was capable of competing with Tam last year. It's a high class problem for us to have.

You can tell his confidence is up with the way he is posting on his Instagram again. Believing in themselves can make all the difference to a young player.

Good to see one of his pass backs find the net today for a change! He’s looked a lot better last few appearances though tbf.

Maybe a turn of form, he's been fairly decent last couple appearances.
