it shouldn't matter whether or not the player was here before as long as they improve the team and wee shaun would definately do that

On his Villa form, I wouldnt want him. Also it would matter if he was here before, it matters to the players and staff that he jumped ship on for a better contract

I would take him back, he offers another good attacking threat and i think he would have something to prove. He could offer us pace and trickery, something only Aiden is giving us.

think his forms been o.k for villa, scored a few crackers. he only jumped ship because the contract he was offered was an insult to a player who had just been named scottish player of the year, i'm sure his agent had alot to do with it

as are you when you say it would matter to the players and the staff about him jumping ship.
Professional footballers do it all the time.Ye can bet your bottom dollar Caldwell,Naylor,Brown etc etc are on better deals then they were at their last club. And a good deal of the present squad weren't even here when Maloney went. Strachan and Burns have both said Maloney was a big loss..It happens players move,

i read he had been offered £25,000 a week, less than a lot of other players at the club were getting. i honestly think shaun wanted to stay and would have done if he'd been made a decent offer

Ya player jumping ship is common. I'm saying it would influence their decision on bringing him back to Celtic

you're right mate i meant that he earned alot less than the top earners at the club, lennon, hartson and petrov and he was worth the same wage as those guys

The other guys proved their worth over several seasons. He should get their wage for one good season? Not a hope

if we dont pay our young players top dollar then they'll get their heads turned by their agents and go down south. do you think aiden is worth paying top wages to hold on to? how much money would it cost to sign an adequate replacement? surely it would be easier to hang on to our players in the first place

Maloney should never be brot bak. He had the opportunity of a good contract, by everything that I read, and choose to leap on the MON bus and get more money. The fact that he said he was leaving to further his career then good luck to him. But there is nochance he should come back to my team when he has found out it aint that good in the EPL. He has played * there every time I have seen him and I hope he plays * for the rest of his career.

Aiden isnt on top wage, he's most likely on a progressive contract, i.e. Basic wage is increased with every season. Maloney was probably offered similar. It would be stupid to offer a young player top wage because when it comes to the next contract, how do we improve the terms or keep other clubs away? Break the wage structure?

i know aiden isn't in top wages but the point i was making was if man city or newcastle offered him £40,000 a week do you not think we should offer the same wages to keep him at the club? how much would a replacement cost?

If we looked hard enough we could get a player of his potential for cheaper. But what you're asking me is what do you think another player of his reputation would cost.

McGeady is in a air tight contract, because he want to be here and isnt stupid regarding his development. Maloney on the other hand was plagued with injury and all the while, the club stood by him and then he up and left in his first full season. He's a *.

Don't think bringing maloney back is the answer and i'm not sure if getting another manager is either. We can all safely say that Strachan has done * this season but it's also the players. We don't play as a unit our passing isn't good enough and we continiously play the same old players and right now, i'm hoping we win against the likes of Gretna? That shouldn't be happening, we should be getting straight wins without fault. From watching Partick Thistle last night i even wonder if we'd win against them!

Caldwell - honest, gives 100%, reasonably good partner with Mick but not good enough.
Sno - too fiesty, never liked him
Brown - needs another chance, don't think we've seen his full potential
Naylor - bit slow, not up to standard
JVOH - can't do his job. Big good guy but just not good enough
    Elvis - doesn't get a game, sell

As for captaining the team.. Mick isn't up to it, he's not experienced enough and doesn't seem to keep the team going well. I really don't know who we could place as Cpt though. Boruc isn't sensible enough lol.. and i'd have to question his loyalty. We need players that will be able to work well together and ones that can score. The midfield is all over the place atm and our defence isn't good enough. Plus the fact the strikers wont score? So really, we need a complete new plan.
