The biggest thing, which people keep forgetting, is we'd be getting a 16 year old that plays for Madrid and has International caps.

If that stifles the development of guys of a similar age in our squad than they don't deserve their chance. He is a shining light of what you can achieve from a young age with application matching talent.

Absolutely. Along with Denayer from Citteh, we could build a reputation for getting the best out of world class youngsters that we would otherwise be unable to get.

Better to have a top shelf player give us one excellent year than nothing at all.

PR are you serious? We are a football club not a reject from Jersey Shore. So let me get this straight you would like us to sign this kid for propaganda reasons, so that we can say to other clubs can we have a lend of your promising kids.

I get the logic, i really do but I will be horrified if we pursue this as a serious strategy. We need to build a proper team over the long term. Short term loans even if the players have real quality will always leave us in transition, if we pursue this as you suggest.

If this goes through it will well and truly put Celtic on the map, I genuinely don't believe he is any better than what we currently have however the amount of media exposure this will create and shirts that this guy will sell will be unreal.

If a 16 year old playing for Real Madrid stifles the development of kids in our squad then they don't deserve chance? How are our kids supposed to compete with him, they're clearly not at his level or they too would be playing for Madrid. But he can hinder their progress by taking a spot in our team they may have been fighting for.

Agreed. Horrible strategy - "we'll develop your players".

Being known as a producer of top talent at a premium would be better.

As I said, this will stunt the progress of others in our squad all for the boy to go home at the end of the season.

I've been impressed with our signings so far but the players we are linked with makes it seem like we are collecting midfielders as if it's bosman day on football manager.

I think signing this lad would be bad news for the likes of GMS , Armstrong and Henderson, who unlike him will be around the season after next.

We don't need a player who is going to "tear SPL defenders a new one" next season and then * off, the league is won before the fixtures are announced. We need to be building, developing and keeping together a squad capable of competing in Europe and controlled selling on for large amounts when the player outgrows us.

Developing other teams 16 y.o players is of no use to us. The PR means nothing as it would be silly to go down this route.

Boys in his age group will aspire to be like him, it will help their development not hinder it.

This is exciting, but you'd have to question the reliability of that website. Not sure why he'd come right now without knowing if we'd have CL football. Hope it's true though.

He won't be taking game time from boys in his age group, it will be Henderson, Rogic, Armstrong and any other midfielders on the verge of making the first team.

Does Celtic need a 16 year old kid to put us on the map ? We're one of the most supported clubs in Britain, every player we're linked with knows the club from the numerous champions league campaigns.

I highly doubt any significant extra revenue would be created by his signing, most people are afraid to get a name on the back of their tops because we sell our players that often, doubt there would be much demand for a name that we know will be gone after a season.
