MARIO BALOTELLI last night revealed AC Milan are desperate to avoid Celtic in a Champions League play-off.
The controversial Italian is desperate to get back on to European football’s top stage by reaching the group phase with the San Siro giants.
However, Milan only finished third in Serie A last season and face a tricky play-off tie at the end of next month against a title-winning team.
And should Celtic get the better of Elfsborg in their next Champions League qualifier over their next tie after overcoming Cliftonville, Neil Lennon’s team could face Balotelli and his colleagues in a 180-minute shootout for a place in the groups.
And the striker confessed: “We cannot think that we are already in the group stages.
“It is true we will avoid playing teams like Arsenal, but there are still many good teams we could face like Celtic, Lyon, and PSV Eindhoven.
“We will be confident whoever we are drawn against, but it would not be a bad thing to avoid Celtic. It is famous for being a tough ground play at and everybody remembers their win against Barcelona last season.”
Balotelli added: “It is important for this club that we do well in the Champions League this year. Milan have a successful history in this competition and, of course, there are big financial rewards for doing well.”
Daily record link doesn't work sorry, This was all I could find.

Anyway don't we follow the champions route, which means we can't get AC.. -
Do people actually get a decent wage to write * articles like that?
Think I'm in the wrong game........ -
We don't play Arsenal, PSV, AC Milan, Lyon in the play offs. Were Champions so we would take teams which are a bit easier.
