I dont really disagree with that, but what I will say is that I'd like to think that if a player becomes available that will further strengthen the team then we will sign that player. It may be more negligent to the future success of the team by not signing them.
I agree that in an ideal world it would be good to shift some of the players who obviously have no part to play in the team, but we have to continue to strengthen.

 

wud take this kid in the mornin as he seems to have good pedigree, need to get rid of donati,graveson, rioardon and sno all *. need a quality cb and Lb asap ,dont rate samaras at all!

 

That is the problem with this guy we do not know if he will further the team it would be impossible to think that he would at this moment as he has played very few games in his professional career. Actually I think that he has only played 10 games in total for Barca and Lyon. We can not risk it on a player at this time.

Dont get me wrong the thought of getting him does excite me only in the best deal possible for us which I think would be initial loan with a fixed fee for us to buy him at any time during the loan the same kind of deal as that with the holy one.

 

I dont believe for one second that we would attempt to sign a player who we dont believe is not going to strengthen the team.
When strengthening the squad, we dont just look to the coming season, that would be irresponsible and short sighted. How many more seasons does Hartley have left for example ?
If the reports are to believed and we are serious about signing this guy, then he is obviously within our budget.
I wouldnt worry too much about the finances of the club, I have 100%confidence in the money men.

All of our signings have an element of risk, thats the market we are in, we cant afford the complete finished article.

 

agree with this guy 100% (apart from spelling). dont rate big sammi either m8 a think we could have put the money together for a better forward than him,he has done well and that but just have never rly liked him.:bbpd:

 

There may be better strikers oput there but at the end of the day big sami came up with the goods a few times last season

I'm sure with our relationship with Barca they'd probably be more happier with him coming our way.

 

They would proabably introduce a clause that we couldn't use him against them if we got them in the CL.

 

I honestly dont think he will be a player we will take. I would like it on the short term but I just dont see it happening. In my opinion he will stay in spain where Barca can keep and eye on him.

Hope we get this guy. will be something finally exciting happenin in this transfer window. Rangers have signed a lot of *, and we dont have anything to worry about in the spl but we need a few champs league quality players.

 

Do you think we would want him on a loan? Honestly I hope we at least get a decent offer to keep him if we want after the season.

Well Lyon are hardly a feeder club for Barca and they had him last year.

I think the people who are slagging him for his size have a valid point, but technique can go a long way to solving that problem. If he can shield the ball and properly go into a tackle, the only time he'll get knocked off the ball is if he gets fouled. Just look at Xavi and Iniesta, neither are big/fast, but they rarely get outmuscled because their positioning is so good.

I think he could have the quality that Donati was supposed to give us, I say get him in on loan. We have a lot of midfielders, but they aren't exactly dripping quality.

 

According to papers we are in talks to sign him for 2.5 million
