Well, Celtic lost it during the home game.
Should've beaten them with a bigger margin and put them away.
Instead had Malmö score that 2nd goal in the 95th game and cary over the momentum into the 2nd leg.

I'm pretty sure van Dijk will be gone now for sure and it won't be easy to find a replacement.

Aye thats what I said, why would Bitton have jumped up and put his arm at the other side of the ball blocking where he would have been trying to head it.

    Terrible decision.

This is when I wish they'd pull them up after the game and show them the footage live on telly.

It wouldn't change anything but it would give me a bit of retribution to know the * knew he was wrong.

It's his job at the end of the day and to get a huge, HUGE decision like that wrong is not on. Especially when you think of what is on the line. But no. He gets to walk away without a word.

We were rotten on the night. Absolutely brutal. However a goal there could have changed our fortunes and quietened their crowd.

That's it for me. We made a total * of it at home.

2-0 up after ten minutes, we should have won that game by another couple of goals but we're * *.

On reflection, we got almost everything wrong. We started messing around (some of the boys were literally smirking and laughing) after going two nil up at home and allowed a *-poor Malmo (who were nothing without that Rosenberg guy orchestrating things) to put themselves in pole position for the return leg.

Instead of going to Sweden and continuing the calm football that brought us so much success at home, we bizarrely tried to hold the fort and play the clock down like Rangers in the UEFA Cup in 2008. And in the effin' first half!

Then, when Malmo got the goal and started their process of parking the bus, instead of gradually pushing up we left Griffiths isolated until there was about 10 minutes left.

Agree with this pretty much. (although I did have to read the first paragraph three times before I realised you weren't accusing our players of literally smoking during the game.) :smiley-laughing002:

Does anyone want to buy the new Euro shirt? I've worn it once and don't like it. Bit gutted about last nights match, more to do with the way we played by not bothering to play well against a team that I think we should have beaten. PM me if anyone is interested in the top and we'll work something out.

I've passed the angry stage and and am now in the fed up phase. Not that I was all that fussed about playing in the Champions League but because losing last night is a blow to the club financially and image wise. I see FC Astana from Kazakhstan qualified tonight and that just makes it seem worse that we did not.

    Sigh.

The more you think about it, you have to conclude that was some poor play by Celtic. I would NOT vote for a MOM, as none of them deserve it.
Alright i know it is chalk and cheese, money wise, but we have tonight Man Utd (4th in the EPL) winning away from home 4 nil against the champions from Belgium. How many of the Celtic team would get into the Man Utd team, i guess none is the answer.
None of the players last night looked at ease on the ball and control of the ball was poor. Forrest and Janko at least had the confidence to run with the ball, but all too often ran onto a back yard. The rest of them appeared to be in awe of players like Berget. No doubt we will win against St. Johnstone but that will mean nothing in the context of competing with the team of Europe or even the average of Europe. In reality this is a very sad state of affairs.
